How long does it usually take for EBAs to be approved?
To put it in prospective, EBA10 has taken approx 10 months to negotiate a proposal. If this does not get approved then they will have to start negotiations again until they agree on an EBA.

On a side note Australian based crew will only operate as far as Perth on the 787 when the Melbourne/Perth/London flight commence in March, 2018 our London based colleagues will operate the Perth/London/Perth sectors.

Have you heard any rumours about any other possible routes?

The rumor mill here in the west in in overdrive lately. There is talk of Perth - Paris and Perth - Munich.

I think there is a good chance of Perth - Paris. There is also lots of speculation of this in the local news.
They are doing lots of work on T3 at the moment to get it ready for March 2018 but ill be surprised if it is finished in time TBH.

Hearing back after online psychometric test

I expect the next email sent out will regard assessment day invitations, but I wouldn't expect any new emails for the next few weeks, not until all of the April applicants have progressed past their video interviews and online assessments as well. It's a waiting game from here on in, and judging by the speed applications progressed last year, I would expect the assessment day will be around mid to late July, with invitation emails sent out about 20 days before that.
Thanks for that Kadara

I suggest letting them know you are going away, by phone or email but booking in for a medical either before or when you get back, and telling them when it is. This will let recruitment know when your medical will be complete (even if it is 4 weeks away) and that you are still very much interested good luck!
Thanks so muc sky high!
I took your advice and got everything done (medical and vaccinations) on Friday, shots were $160 and medical was $280 here in Syd.
Hopefully we hear back soon! Good luck!

Online video interview

Does anyone have any examples of questions for the online video interview? Has anyone done this yet?

Thanks Rosey! As I mentioned earlier 3 questions they're all customer service based and they ask you questions for example to tell them about a time when you've handled a situation, what did you do if you had a difficult customer, or teamwork, great customer service experience etc... very easy questions but it's weird to talk to yourself. Just google behavioural questions and try to record your answers on your own time and watch yourself before you start your video interview! I know it's weird haha but it really helps😊
Good luck😉🌹

One more tip make sure that you put your hair in a bone or ponytail! Exactly like a cabin crew and wear something formal maybe black or dark grey! Put on nice make up and red lipstick 💄 you're grooming needs to be perfect! You're background needs to be a plains wall!

Hope that helps

I'm not sure about that, apparently, the QCCUK crew can't do it because the duty is too long and against UK law?

It came directly from management on the first webinar around EBA10

If you want to save money, Sarah got some great tips in the earlier posts for the vaccines. Finger crossed for everyone who is at this stage and waiting for the golden calls.

Crewflyer and galleyhag , may I ask if you know anything about ground school for may and June ? Are those classes will be endorsed on the new world fleet ( A380/B787) or mainline ? Much appreciated .

For all the hopefuls who applied in April this year , this is a long process so patience is much needed, keeping busy is a key. having additional language is definitely an advantage such as mandarin. But it will come down to how well you perform at group assessment together with video assessement . I would jump at the available slots when receiving the email asap, that can determine how early you are likely going to be in ground school first. There Are lots of discussions about video interview tips in the earlier posts like Mn mentioned , please take your time to read back. Just a few points worth mentioning , it is not likely someone will disclose the questions asked so everyone will have a fair go , however they are all customer service based questions such as situation when you go above and beyond ..etc , remember to smile , practice recording yourself on iPad. I was nervous and was pretty crap at answering questions to be honest but make sure you answer ALL questions , don't skip any questions. Best of luck ❤️🎉
Hi,

Unfortunately I dont know which aircraft type you will be endorsed on. The ground schools that have been through for longhaul in the last 12-14months all have been mainline (B747A330) I believe. So I can ok only assume that the ground school in May will be mainline (dont quote me on it though). Training for the B787 can't start until they come to an agreement for EBA10. EBA10 outcome should be completed by the first week of June. So if EBA gets approved training for B787 can then commence otherwise its back to renegotiations. I do know that they have training scheduled for late July/August for B787 so they are trying to get this EBA10 approved. Time will tell.

Oh okay, guess they've worked a way around that then! As I'm SH I haven't been following LH EBA10's progress that closely

Wannabes waiting on/completed medicals

Hey all
I've been waiting 3 weeks for my ASIC checks to be completed, and wondering if anyone else is in the same boat?
For those that have done medicals -
1) How soon after the background checks were all ticked did you receive your medical email?
2) How long did results of the medical usually take?
3) How long after medical results submitted did you wait for the golden call?
*Applied in May 2016, and am currently overseas (if I don't go through, I will live here for awhile), so I'm just a little worried with the time frame of getting back to Aus before the SYD 24/5 and 5/6 GS start dates!
Any info much appreciated. Please and thank you in advance!
