Hi All!

Anyone on their security and background check phase still waiting on the final tick from Auscheck? (Had some IT issues with my application that's why it's a tiny bit behind)

Also to those that have just applied in April - keep your head up and stay positive.
A mantra to follow with Qantas is that 'no news is good news'.
It was exactly a year ago on Tuesday that I applied for a position, and I waited just over a month to receive an invitation to do a video interview, and still I'm only on my security phase now.
If you don't hear anything please don't be disheartened, good things will happen soon!

I've heard from another person in the industry that apparently all the rejection emails have already been sent.

To everyone that's still on asic/medicals - my fingers are crossed for you all, that you hear something soon! And to those who are new to the recruitment process - Good luck!!

there is a number to call on the email, im thinking of just calling and asking if i can be on hold till i get back? i just dont want to ruin my chances as i have been waiting for so long....
any advice is appreciated!!
Congratulations! Have you called and booked in for your medical? I would suggest doing that asap, and you may even be lucky and get in before you go? I found that some places had quite a long wait. I'm in Adelaide, so I'm actually heading over to Melbourne to have it done next week, as I couldn't bare waiting weeks to have it done!

I suggest letting them know you are going away, by phone or email but booking in for a medical either before or when you get back, and telling them when it is. This will let recruitment know when your medical will be complete (even if it is 4 weeks away) and that you are still very much interested good luck!

Hi there
To be honest I found the video interview the most daunting process and I honestly felt mine was a train-wreck lol. The questions were quite straight forward however I felt my nerves got the better of me regardless of the fact the I had been a Cabin Manager at Virgin for almost 10 years. I stumbled on quite a few of my words and some of my answers were very short. Just try and be as relaxed as you can be and think about each question before jumping in to answer them. If it doesn't go well don't be disheartened as every step of the process is scored, ie your application, video interview, assessment day etc so if in one area your marks arn't that great you can make up for it in other areas. Hope that helps and good luck.

I'm assuming QF recruitment is just staggering out the video interview applications so they can process them. Don't loose hope.

Just another update everyone.

I recently progressed to the online assessment which I found to be a psychometric assessment of sorts. I can't really offer any advice because of the T&C's of the assessment, but it's nothing you can prepare for, and it's nothing you should be worried about.

Addendum; I know quite a few people who still haven't received their video interview invitation. If you are in the same boat, just go by our motto here of "No news is good news"

Just received the confirmation of my application email fewdays ago and they will be in touch very soon! What does that mean?🤔
I got the 'we will be in touch very soon' email almost four weeks after applying and just over a week after that got the VI invite.
As someone said - no news is good news.
After all they are busy finalizing the ground schools for May and early June.
My speculation is that they will have assessment days after those ground schools have started.

Oh that's great! I've got mine on Monday. I'm having to travel to Melbourne to get it done as they only have one place in Adelaide, and they were booked out for 2 weeks! 😬 But very glad I could get it done sooner. What base are you applying for?

Hi everyone
For those doing medicals and needing Hep A & B injections here is a good tip if you have a bulk billing doctor. I was quoted up to $205 ($80 doctor fee, $95 Hep A, $30 Hep B) to get these injections done however you can simply buy the injection with a prescription (its a twin injection called twinrix) from Chemist Warehouse for $62.00 and then go back to your doctor to get him to inject. So all up I paid $62.00. So doctor first for prescription, then chemist then back to doctor for injection. A little bit of running around however might be worth the saving for some of you .

Hi everyone
Finally I have received my digital interview invitation and successfully completed it😊
I believe the next stage would be online assessment! Are they gonna send it via email or through workday website?
Good luck to you all and congratulations to those which are going to start GS soon🌹😊

Would anyone happen to have any information on the assessment day and ground school locations in SYD?

I'm assuming the assessment day is held at the Qantas Service Center of Excellence in Alexandria, and ground school is at the flight training center at QF jetbase at SYD airport?

So how long is this wait going to be after digital interview?

Also, does any know if you speak additional language, would you have special consideration maybe?

I have no info regarding assessment date. If you are SYD base then training will be at COSE Qantas Service Center of Excellence in Alexandria for customer service training & if you are BNE or MEL base sorry I dont know. Emergency procedures is based at flight training center (SYD airport) grounds school should commence in late July or August.

Hi HDSD

There are 3 questions about handling different situations and all are customer service based. I think you will get the email very soon because few people that I know never received a confirmation email but a rejection one. So if you have received that confirmation email it means that they are reviewing applications and I hope that you receive your interview very soon😊This is what happend to me and I've applied just couple of day before application closing date which is almost 2 weeks ago.
