Hi all. Good luck to everyone applying for the latest round. I submitted an application via the Workday program on Saturday. It said on screen that it had accepted it but I haven't received a confirmation email. Is that normal? Thanks for your advice!

It also didn't ask for referees or a photo. Is that normal? Thanks again!

Thank you! Seems so strange that they have started recruiting again when there is still current applications pending...

I hope I'm not repeating anything that has been mentioned before, does anyone have info on the salary? And also what if the video interview like?

Hi everyone!

I am quite new to this thread as well.

I got a phone call today confirming that I start on the 24th of May! I can see a few of us are starting on the same day.

I really don't know what to expect, but I am really excited but nervous at the same time.

Hi Bonnie,

Don't worry about repeating anything, I'm pretty sure we have all (especially me lol) repeated ourself many times on here.

I think the salary is approximately $44k per year plus allowances.

Personally for me the video interview was the most challenging part as you only have one shot at recording your answer and you have limited time to come up with the answer. The best thing to do is to stay positive, try not to freak out and take a moment to breathe if you feel stuck. Like roamingthesky said earlier, just practice talking to yourself in the mirror beforehand. It's important to keep eye contact with the camera also to engage with the viewer.
To prepare try and think of possible questions they may ask you and come up with answers for them.

When preparing for my interviews I used this and I highly recommend it for any of you that are applying. It helps a lot. 😊

Good luck to all of you that are applying! Congratulations to all that have received that amazing phone call, well done! And I'm sending lots and lots of positive vibes to all of you that like me are still waiting to hear some news about asics/medicals!

Talk soon xx

In regard to the salary of a QCCA flight attendant this can be found in the relevant EBA, however the main points are:

Trainee Flight Attendant $39,342.00 once training is complete you move to Flight Attendant - Entry $42,405.00 after 12 months as an entry Flight Attendant you move to Flight Attendant $43,253.00 the EBA that covers these salaries is currently being negotiated therefore you can expect at a minimum at best a 3% increase to the above salaries.

Overtime is paid once your duty exceeds 12 hours and that is paid at single time for the category Flight Attendant - Entry that is $27.18 per hour. Flights over 14 incur additional overtime.

Incidental payment of approx $3.00 per block hour (from take off to landing) is also paid.

That is the only payments that you will receive on your payslip direct into your bank account.

All allowances are paid in local currency at the hotel upon check-in and these vary depending on location and length of stay if you want more information please let me know.

Cheers and good luck

You get paid per meal, so it depends on what time you flight gets in, and if you get a meal on board.
Typically works out around $200 Aus a day in most ports

When you say mainline you mean non A380 flying 747/A330? Allowances are the same for all international cabin crew regardless of aircraft type. Would you like some allowance information for non A380 ports? Any particular ports or just general idea?

Yes please, and I guess whatever you are willing to divulge, and maybe some and the best and worst slip allowances?
Also, do you know if QCCA crew are allowed to bid for trips?

Hi Guys,

Just applied for the latest intake and the information on here is golden! I've applied for the Sydney base and will be relocating from the west coast.

Good luck to everyone waiting on replies.

I'd love to know the same as Bonniehealy and Mn64- the average fortnightly payslip

If you work on the mainline fleet being 747/A330 you will receive approx $1400.00 per fortnight after tax you will also be paid the incidental payment for block hours flown at approx $3.00 per hour. There are not a lot of routes where overtime would be paid therefore to be on the safe side you can bank on the $1400.00 per fortnight plus allowances in local currency. After year 1 the base salary increases slightly.

On the A380 fleet as this is flown to long range routes you will be paid overtime on just about every trip therefore your base pay remains the same $1400.00 after tax plus incidental payment and overtime therefore if you did 2 trips in a pay period your could expect to receive in your bank account anywhere from $1600.00-$1800.00 per fortnight maybe more but you have to remember the only consistent component will be your base pay. On top of that allowances paid in local currency.

In regard to allowances its very complex to explain as it is calculated on Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack with a total if you were in a slip port covering all those meals. However the business provides meals onboard say inbound and outbound to/from a slip port therefore you may only receive part of the total payment. AUD $200.00 per day is about right if you are on the A380 fleet the average I would say is between $150.00-$200.00. Remember you have to pay for all your food, drinks, etc etc from the allowance and suffer exchange rate losses or profits when you convert your allowance back to Australian dollars.

As an example if you were on a 4 Day Los Angeles trip you will receive approx USD $135.00 for your entire stay that is approx AUD $180.00 deduct your expenses while up in Los Angeles.

On a 3 day Singapore trip depending on arrival time you will receive approx SGD $119.00-$210.00 if we take the max allowance for a 3 day trip being SGD $210.00 that is AUD $199.00 again you will need to deduct all your expenses while in the slip port.

Allowances vary greatly depending on aircraft fleet and your destination therefore be very careful trying to work these into your calculations when working out your cost of living etc. Some fortnights and months you may get great allowances and overtime others not so much.

I hope this basic information helps. At the end of the day it is a fantastic career working with the best airline in the world and the opportunities for future promotion are there but its important you go in knowing some basic facts. Once again good luck.

Thank you so much for all that info and taking the time to write it all. That's exactly what I was looking for!

I have 2 young boys so I really need to consider everything, but I want this so bad! I have asked a couple of times but don'tkbow i.e. If ground school is only located in Sydney?

Also someone asked earlier but I can't seem to find a reply, I applied via the workday portal which didn't ask for a photo & I didn't receive a confirmation email? Is this just the updated recruitment process?
