Hi guys and girls.
I've just received my 3rd AD invite for the year for QantasLink flight attendant Brisbane base for next Wednesday.
Unfortunately, I cannot make it again due to being away interstate for my current job. I am so disappointed right now that's words can't express. I'm only away for my current job about 3 weeks out of every 12. It just so happens every time I get an AD opportunity I'm away.
I've only been with my current employer for under a year (I'm a sales rep), and I can't just cancel my travel plans last minute so that I can attend.
I've been following these forums for a while now, and have noticed that there are people on here that are already working as cabin crew(some internationally) who are able to get through the process. How do you do it?
Am I just really unlucky?
My Husband even said, maybe it's a sign...*sigh*
Sorry for the rant, I'm just so gutted right now

Thanks roamingthesky. I'm feeling more optimistic this morning. Hopefully I'll get another chance at an AD, or I can always reapply again. Good luck to all of the other hopefulls. May your dreams come true

You'll be absolutely fine good things come to those who wait, and if they've offered you 3x ADs, they obviously like what you have submitted so far!

Hi everyone.
I'm still waiting like quite a few others here, ASIC completed so hopefully medical email next although from what I have heard it most probably won't happen until next year now. I've heard that the Nov 16 SYD and Nov 22 MEL ground schools will be the last for the year however the recruitment will be ongoing throughout next year. If a few people can't attend these ground schools then a few more people will be contacted to do medical etc to take their place. Good luck everyone and don't be disheartened with the "active hold" emails etc as like I said this is an ongoing recruitment and will continue next year.

Hi Everyone.
I got the medical email Wednesday! All booked in for next week . I called yesterday after receiving a voicemail, and it was just a courtesy call confirming I got the email, and to email them straight away once I had booked. They also asked what my notice period is, and confirmed I'd done everything else. I've just started a new job and have been there 3 days, but oh well, that's life!
In regards to the vaccinations, I'll need to get my records from my previous doctor located in NZ. It stated in the email 'Please note the importance of the vaccination information as this can significantly delay your application if not followed correctly.' So I'm a little concerned about that :-/. I'm more than willing to get all the vacinations, I do know I need the Hep A & B one. I'm pretty sure I had the Varicella (chicken pox) and MMR one already, but may need a top up? I'll soon find out.
For all of those still waiting, hang in there! I know it's hard. I applied initially last year end of November. Think of it as an aircraft waiting in a queue for takeoff

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone else is in the 22 Nov GS in Melbourne? I got my golden phone call at the end of last week and am hoping there might be some others in this forum that will be joining me
To those that have been placed on active hold, please don't give up. I applied in November last year and while the wait was frustrating and at times disheartening, i promise you will forget about all of that once you receive the call.

Hi Mn64!
It's for Melbourne base. When I called to book they said it was about $300 for both the Medical and Alcohol and Other Drugs testing, and it would take about an hour and a half . One more step forward

I am on the same stage with you, got the medical email on Wednesday but then I managed to do all my test and results yesterday already! Alcohol & Drug cost around 72$ and the health check is $186.
Had to do the vaccinations because I don't have any previous record. I had Twinrix- it's the combination of hepitats A& B and also MMR. Both of them costed me 105$
