Hi guys!
I hope you don’t mind me popping a question in here 🙊 but I’ve applied as a CSA, obvs different from CC but the recruitment process seems to be exactly the same! Anyway so I had an assessment centre in June, had Xref email 2 days later, my ASIC is now all green ticks after 9 days and then went on my medical 2wks ago. But I’ve heard nothing since!!!! Is that normal? I’m starting to panic I’ve somehow failed my medical 😂 there was talk at assessment day that they wanted us to start end July beginning August so I thought I would’ve heard something by now? Even acknowledgement that they’ve received medical results or anything!!!

Hey kchamzx! Yup, still on hold here. Had to do my medical and security checks again. Just waiting for final green ticks for my second security check then hopefully I get my own phone call soon! Hang in there! Try to stay busy and fill up your calendar with lots of things to do; that's what I've been doing and distracts me from all the waiting and waiting and waiting......

QCCA SYD training in Melb
Hi everyone, I got the golden call about 2 weeks ago advising I would be starting training on 24 July for mainline approx 7 weeks.
I will be SYD base but my ground school is in Melbourne and my EPs will be in Brisbane.
Any other SYD crew in the same boat? Would love to have someone to hang out with and study with whilst away from home for 7 weeks.

My Timeline
Yes, that's correct! I got the call today asking if I would be willing to take a full-time contract position, until March/April 2019. Groundschool starts on the 27th of August. I said yes and hope/pray a permanent position comes up before the end of my contract! They do not know which base yet. I said I was happy to relocate wherever they needed me.
My timeline of events were:
Applied April 2017 / Assessment Day June 2017 / Reference Checks Complete July 2017 / Phone call to state I'm still on hold May 2018 / Phone call to ask if I'd take a 6-month contract July 2018
I'm still over the moon to be starting with QANTAS - after such a long wait, I was so scared I would miss out. 6 months is better than nothing

Yes I got this call today to say only a 6 month contract is being offered, for groundschool in SYD starting 27th August... and obviously they can extend the contract “if the business requires it”

I'm Sydney base for the 24th July GS too! Have you received your contract or confirmed ground school details yet? I was told SYD when I got the offer, but I called them today, and they said they are still finalising numbers for ground schools - so they're not sure where 24th July GS is gonna be... My email says permanent full time, but waiting on that contract for confirmation *fingers crossed

Does anyone know what’s going to happen if our background checks don’t clear through in time before August GS? It’s cutting it a bit fine since so many people say it takes a while....

I received my call from HR last week and they told me I will receive the contract shortly (hopefully by the end of this week). I still haven't received it as of today. I am super curious to find out all the details regarding training schedule etc. I will be starting ground school in syd on 24th July as well. Hope can stay in touch with a few of you who will be commencing on the same day as well so there's someone I know on the day

I guess we keep waiting for the next ground school..... I have been logging in and checking my security checks about 10 times a day, still waiting for those last two red crosses to turn green! It's driving me crazy!!
