I got the golden call this afternoon!
Mainline MEL base with training starting 30th July in Sydney. Received my offer letter and they advised contract will be sent over the next few business days with US Visa docs etc. I applied in April 2017 and I've had everything cleared for about 2 months now (eg. Medical/Security), so if you are in the same boat as I was, keep your head held high and hopefully you'll receive your call over the coming weeks

Did they say your starting Sydney training on the 30th? I thought we had a couple of weeks in Melbourne first before going to Sydney? ☺️ excited to meet you. I am starting the same date x

I’m also starting on 24/7, but I’m SYD base. Anyone else? Also, people for SYD 3/7 GS, how long did it take for your contract/US Visa prompts to come through? They told me this week but still haven’t received mine. Seems like early days, but trying to keep on top of everything!

I think the training is all in sydney for the 24/7 ground school so maybe it is a mixture of bases. The contract and Visa prompts could take a little while to come through as they are so busy but you will receive them I’m the next few weeks. Can’t wait to meet you in ground school!

Glad to hear there is more of us getting calls everyday and that there’s a few of us starting on the 24/7. I don’t think anything confirmed as far as what base we will be training in, it seems everyone is being told something different.. guess we will wait and see closer to the date! Can’t wait to meet you in GS 😊

i'm still waiting mine..still on hold almost a year now.
anyone else still on hold?i guess they will ask to redo all medical and security checks again.

I completely know your struggle! I also applied in 2016, and also had to do all my checks twice. I would say call a recruiter (if you have any previous contact), or email them saying you urgently need ID docs sighted, with your times of availability/current base. Then make sure you have your 100 points (inclusive of segment - e.g. A or C... can’t quite remember, but I had to get a payslip as extra ID even though I thought I had 100 points already). I had to do this and I know it is so so hard to wait. It seems like there is a very large number of people going through the same processes. I think it really is down to whose checks go through first (and a lot of the time computer issues delay things as well). I hope this helps you, and good luck!

im still on hold aswell, applied April 2017, assessment day July 2017, Reference check August 2017 then I received a call May 2018 advising I was still on active hold. Hoping it won’t be much longer till more positions become available
