Cathay Pacific - Wannabes & Recruitment II

Hello,

I had applied for CX's ad in The Times of India & i just got an email invitation:

"Thank you for your recent application for the position of Flight Attendant.
We would like to invite you to attend our Career Talk and initial interview as detailed below:
"

Can someone please enlighten me on what this event is going to be like?

Many Thanks for your help in advance

Groggle thank you so very much for those links.

I've had a few friends attend the preliminary stages and the process is as described in the above links.

- A group of ~12 is taken into a conference room
They are then sub-divided into Three groups of 4 people each.
  • Group 1 had to Discuss / Present: Importance of Airline Food Quality
  • Group 2 had to Discuss / Present: Cheap Ticket Fare
  • Group 3 had to Discuss / Present: Safety

Once done with that, the entire group of 12 is required to Discuss: What is more Important of the ^ 3 from a marketing Perspective?

The ones shortlisted are required to attend the next round of Group Discussion + Language Tests and if you clear that then FI at some later date.

By the way, it seems CX has shortlisted a LOT of people for the initial round, interviews have begun since February 4th 2011, mine is still a few days away.

My friend's referance number is in the High Two Thousands, so that many people to be screened by them.

Ok so i made it all the way till the Final Interview.

Met some familiar faces (whom i had met previously at QR Interviews) in the waiting area and got talking with them.

These folks were done with their F1 and were talking amongst the others who too were headed out after their F1.
They told me that only 1 girl and a guy were told to go for their medicals after F1, almost Everyone else who completed their Final Interview here at Mumbai were given these Green Cards and told to wait 6 weeks for CX's final answer,

This ^ was second week of February.

Cathay Pacific India Facebook page posted the following on Feb 15th and i am struggling in interpreting it:
Cathay Pacific India - Flight Attendant (Hong Kong) | Facebook

Cathay Pacific India
The selection process for the position of Flight Attendant (Hong Kong base) is completed. Congratulations to all who are selected for this position.
Does that mean they're done selecting people & they have got the people they wanted | or | they're done with the Selection/Final Shortlisting & would now start sending out the emails?

I've been very uneasy ever since i read this as i havent gotten any mail yet.

Does CX decide immediately upon their F1 about the candidate or do they wait and send Congratulatory/Medical email after a length of time?

I would greatly appreciate your opinions.

Cheers

^ If they had you fill the Immigration Form & do your Medicals means You're Hired! (considering you're Medical Fitness is upto their Standards)

Just wait for them to revert to you, it may take some time but as long as you know you're fit enough, you will be on a CX A330 doing BOM - HKG very soon.
Congratulations

By the way, i called-up Cathay India HR & Personnel, Spoke to a very polite lady who clearly said that CX HKG Team should be handling this directly as they (India) have nothing to do with the process, she was courteous enough to still wish me Luck with my candidacy - I really appreciated that.

So my wait continues................

Angel cathay pacific india recruitment

Hey, your last post was very encouraging!

Its been a long wait and I hope things eventually fall into place. I gave medicals for CX India crew HKG base on 11th and my friend and I are under the impression that owing to visa formalities its been taking time for the results to come out. Hope all those who have been called for Medicals will eventually be recruited if they meet the medical requirements. Lets keep each other posted on new developments. Thank you.

hi everyone

hello i'm new here
and i'm Korean. There was a cathay pacific recruitment a week ago here.
So I have a bunch of questions for you guys...
The candidates including me went through to the final interview, got visa form and medical form, but didnt get the date for medical checkup. I mean, nobody did. (of course some couldn't fill out those forms) and we have to wait for the answers for 6 weeks. what does it mean?
I'm wondering how the process went there.. did everyone who filled out the forms got an email by cathay to go for medical? or anyone rejected even before medical checkup?
Im very nervous because they emphasize that our application is not successful if we didn't receive a notification within 6 weeks.
please help me T___T

Hiring

Hi everyone!

Do you know if Cathay Pacific is hiring Filipinos at this time? I checked their website and it said there that you have to be a Hong Kong permanent resident. I submitted an online application just to give it a try. I haven't got a word from them.

I hope you can give me some infos!

Thank you! :
