OD 7 of Jan `
Hello everyone,
A little bit about what happened that day.
I went to the OD last 7 of Jan in Melbourne, we were around 40 people, for my surprise more boys than girls, or at least few more. In the first part they showed us avideo about the airline, life in Dubai, they talk about the hours, the money, how hard the job is, isn't only the glamorous side, that's for sure. after that we had our first group activity, we were split up in 2 groups, 20 each. You had to talk to the person on your right. ask that person about something they didn't mention in their CV, that was a good time to speak to the people in your group, not only to the person on your right. in the mean time the two girls doing the recruitment process were calling each person to see if they could reach 212 cms.
also they asked you a bit about your self, they had everyone's CV.
after that we had to leave the room, we waited for about 20 min, then we were called back to the room. they started calling our numbers. They gave us name badges with a number. so every number got a letter saying congratulations or bye bye. After that we were only 20 left . some had to do English test. so 8 people doing English test 2 people were left out of the room so the groups were balanced. they had to wait for the other ones doing the English test. after half our, the first 10 were called back in the room and 2 or 3 people were eliminated. then the other 10 people had their group activity. we had to nominate 2 people for Nobel price and give 3 reasons why. then another activity, this one was about making a movie, which guideline, about what, main actor and actress and that's it. nobody got eliminated. so in total we were 17 or 18 all of us got trough I think half boys half girls. I was expecting more girls, but we were like 9 boys in there. . the FI was o Sunday and Monday, we had to bring photographs, a lot of them, study certificates and work certificate or payslip. they said the will give an answer in 1 or 2 weeks about the outcome of the interview. fingers crossed!
I hope this can help people going to an OD, just relax, be yourself, talk to different people all the time, don't stick with one group. smile and be nice. also wear nice clothes.I dont mean good brands or anyhting like that, but your personal presentation. I think that's important, try to look very good. grooming is very important. FC are the face of the Airline.

yes it is!! in Lyon (france) we were 50/50! i couldnt say if we were more girls or what, its amazing for you guys! i hope that we gonna have this GC!!!fingers cross!!!

Hi Guys, Ive had my FI in London on 8th Nov and my status changed to AIP since 14th Dec and still not changed since, really worried as a lot of people have had their FI's after me and already have had thier GC's. Is anyone in the same boat as me?

I'd like to ask you a question my friend had the FI with qatar 3 weeks ago and stills waiting for the result please can you tell me when they send the result.they told them that they will contact them after 3 weeks but no news.

I'm from Romania.. and it's taking a looong time to receive an answer too. I wrote at the joining date after 15th febr, so i'm thinking maybe this is the reason my status didn't change...

I got my Golden Call yesterday morning (January 9th).
All medicals and forms are to be uploaded on the online portal.
My Date of Joining is Feb 19th.

I had my FI on dec 10 and My status is still under review . Did you guys get the tattoo declaration or hear anything back at all ? Don't worry too much - I know easier said than done , but AIP is a good sign and as always no news Is good news . I hope we all hear something soon xx

i had my FI on 8th nov and submitted all docs, pics and even signed the declation form there and then. I even wrote im able to start asap as ive just finished uni.
a lot of people that have been interviewed after me have had their calls and i haven't - only me and another 3 girls were selected for the FI. (but i dont know about them)
its really annoying waititng, ive even called london office and told them my situation and they told me to call them again this friday. why are they taking their sweet time for london people?!

Hey all aussies,
Im slightly confused SEEK placed ads out yesterday (10th) for Emirates recruitment yet when you click on bases e.g Melb and Perth it says the OD wa on 7th Jan yet on the Emirates website says 11th Feb OD. Can anyone shed any light on this? Mistake or we've missed the boat

There is another OD in Melbourne next month, the 11 of Feb , apparently they are doing it once a month so they dont have to deal with 200 people at once.
