melmel I believe Singapore is a very competitive country in the ODs right? How many people showed up?
I read about cases like your OD, and then cases where they accepted to assess people aged 20 because they turned 21 in just a few months (usually no more than one or two months away). And then I barely remember to have read one case that someone flew to Dubai aged 20 but turned 21 before finishing training....
Nevertheless this last cases must be myths or really awesome people that EK couldn't miss having! But oh well, funnyrose if you turn 21 in January then take this time to gain experience and to be really prepared for an OD or AD closer to your birthday. Good luck!

There were hundreds of people that turned up. I don't know what EK are looking for, I just wanted to give an honest account of what happened with the OD I attended.

melmel you're very right! The only thing we can be sure is that they turned away 20-year-olds in your OD. The others are just cases that I read about and I am not certain at all, they are just to admit the possibility that it 'could' happen.
But most likely it'll be like your OD, the rest is random and luck
(I'd better go prepare my attire to take the pictures tomorrow!!)

hello all, i just wanna know that for the minimum arm reach standing on tip toe required is 212cm right?what if i only manage to reach about 208cm? is that very crucial?somehow i reli wish to go for cabin crew in emirates~~neway, i'm 160cm tall~~reply is greatly appreciated~=))

heyy all i made my final interview on 4th of augush and still my application status showing under review and one of my colleagues status changed into approved does that mean that i am rejected and there is no hope

hey Akoti19, Am patiently waiting for the next AD too. Is it certain that the next Nairobi AD will fall then (November-December) cause on their site i haven't seen any other for this year except the one that just ended last weekend.

Headscarves/veil for female CC
This has been answered previous, but for those asking again:
Female ground staff may wear a white veil (same as CC scarf) in place fo hat, with approval
Female cabin crew must wear the hat with veil, without exceptions. Once doors are closed the hat is to be removed until after landing. No Muslim female CC wear hijab during the flight, to maintain consistent image.
If you are not comfortable with not being veiled, suggest you apply for job on ground

Im going to attend the OD on 10th september in Frankfurt and im super nervous. i really want to be a FA especially with EK. i guess the only thing you can do so youll pass all the interviews and the tests is to prepare yourself as best as you can. My biggest fear is that im not what they are looking for (because everything else eg languages, weight ect is changeable, but you cant really change who you are).
Is anyone here going to attend OD in frankfurt, too?

You know what, I said previously that I will wait till closer to my 21st bday and I have been reading very carefully

With calculation:
September 10th OD
then Final interview may be some where around the 13th or 14th the next week
If I make it, they may prolong to 6 to 8 week for Golden Call so 2 months which will be mid November.
If I do get the golden call they may give me DOJ in December or ask if I prefer a later date! (not so, because I have seen many people ask for a later date and that was fine.)
ANYWAYS the only way for me to know is to try myself, so im going strong come September 10. The worst that can happen is that I get a "NO".
Everyone's luck is different so Ill let you know what happens.

Hello,please someone who is working or has already finished with medicals approval and so tell me what happens... I submitted all my medicals and for 3 days I did not have the step 2: JOINING available. Now out of a sudden they became available and I have the resignation letter and travel induction with workbook available,as well as the travel arrangements. Doesn't this appear only after medical approval? don't understand. Or they do appear anyway? but they are congratulating me for having passed the pre employment steps and being accepted as part of emirates and the cabin crew team. Boooh!? I did not get any mail or sms yet to tell me I'm medically cleared... thought they were still waiting for a full blood count, as I sent only the hemoglobine count on it's own.
Also, wanted to let you know I re-did the smear test and came out CLEAR and good!! the first one was wrong!! but now I can't do anything anymore for the insurance, because I already signed the waiver where I give up on medical assistance for the cervical smear problem for 2 years
oh well, I won't need it anyway.

Arvind when you went to your AD you had to put somewhere if you were available right away or if you needed time to join, didn't you? What did you say there?
Sometimes what happens is that people put that they can join in, for example, 3 months. Then EK calls the ones that are availabe right away first and then the others.
Could that be your case? If not... keep calling and best of luck

ohhh - you are right, i mentioned that i would be available as from August, but later i emailed them asking to change it from august to july, maybe they did not take that into consideration... i was panicking a bit because i know some people already got the positive and negative email. so i think that by end of year i should be getting my reply then, meaning i still stand a chance of receiving the rejection email or the GC

Am just speculating because they are on a recruitment spree for the year 2011 and 2012.the were here last year December,this year April and June so am guessing by November December they shall be back.Just keeping my fingers crossed.
