OD Seville

Hi guys!!

Let me tell my experience in the Seville OD

13 Aug - OD
14 Aug - AD
15 Aug - FI

We were around 180 and we made it to the FI 14 (6 boys and 8 girls).

Now I just need to send some more documents to Dubai and then it will start the never ending waiting

Let me ask you something: you guys are talking about checking your status (approval in progress, under review...) where can i check my status?? I haven't been told about this

thank you for everything and good luck to everyone!

I am so sad. I have just submitted all my medicals, and all were good instead that yesterday I had to pick up my smear test and the result was with low abnormal cells. I already told Emirates I am waiting for the result of the smear test so I do have to submit it. But I am very worried.. whether they will just wont give me the medical insurance part for this problem (which is fine for me!) or they won't hire me??
My doctor told that hopefully in 3 months my imunitary system will have already got rid of them, and that almost every woman has it in one part of her life but the body fights against and it comes back to normal. But I am worried about this situation with Emirates. I checked on medical form and at the gynaecology part writes only that it is unnacceptable to have severe menstrual pains or untreated CIN II pap result .. but mine, as in the first 3 categories of result is CIN I.
I am pretty much sure I will solve with my health (as doc gave me some ovules and stuff), but I dont know what Emirates will say of this when I submit, today, the last report this being the smear test. I can't believe that after I thought all was good not comes this. so hoping they will not give up on me... I try to keep up my hopes but I am so worried..

My experience.

As I have used this forum for the last few months and have used the information given, I feel it is only fair to tell you all my experience.

I applied in the UK and was shortlisted for an AD however unfortunately I was moving to Singapore a day or so after and wasn't able to attend. I sent an email to recruitment telling them my reasons, they said I could attend another AD in Singapore when they got there.

I did have to wait for a few months for one in Singapore but an OD came up in July which I attended. So the rumour of Asian girls not being hired is completely untrue... I am however Australian...

Also for people who travel a word of caution, the OD was on the 10th but the FI was not until the 30th of July and many people had to travel twice!!

I'm not going to put up particulars about specific questions in the interview as it has been covered so many times on this forum.

Best piece of advice that I can give everyone is follow the instructions they give you. There have been questions such as ' can I take this picture or that picture'..No, you can't, and you look unprepared. Take exactly what they tell you.

Also make friends with people that are there. The people in your FI are a great source of information and understand EXACTLY what you have been through as they did it too.
By making friends you can get to know each other on a different level and this makes the process easier.

So I received my call yesterday after 2.5 weeks waiting so far out of 14 girls 1 guy 8 of us have received the call...there still is 3 weeks left for the others.

So again through meeting many people not just one or two, I now know who has the same date of joining as me, which is fantastic. There are 4 girls out of my group that are leaving Singapore on the same day as me (7th November)

So on to my medicals... I am not looking forward to the vaccinations *ouch*..

P.S. I hope I have been of some help

Most likely they will send you a medical waiver form to sign and ask you to repeat the Pap test in Dubai /after 3 months have passed. The waiver basically means that if the 2nd test is also the same you are not covered for any related conditions by the medical insurance, but if it is not a disqualifying condition as listed as 'unacceptable' then it SHOULD be ok... try not to worry & see if this is what they do.

If you are that worried you could ask your Dr to type a letter stating what he told you (that he thinks is temporary and next pap should be normal) and upload that as well with the result, that way clinic will see Dr does not think it will be a problem.

TheRedHatGirl

Thanks a lot for your response. I am so freaking out. The thing is,my doc told me that in a big number of cases, the body does win over this and all comes back to normal, but I dont think he could give me a letter stating this..I don't think he would put his stamp on something like this. BUT he did write at the ''treatment'' rubric : test shall be repeated within 6 months. So he clearly states that he thinks no other treatment should be performed for now.
Today I went to another doctor and he told it is a strange diagnostic, because he did the test again and I have no visible lesion whatsoever. He told the result of the first test can be wrong. And I so much hope so. I shall pick up this second result on wednesday. Meanwhile, I will contact emirates and say that I'd like to state that I refuse to do the test and I agree not to be covered by insurance on this problem,if possible..if not and they still ask the result, I will wait for the result on wednesday and see wich one of them to submit, who knows, a wonder might happen and this second one could turn out good. I hope it is as you say and they won't reject me because of this it is said that many women have it anyway, at least 3% so they should be familiar with this kind of problem. Waiting and praying now..for my health and for emirates. Meanwhile if anyone has an experience like this or has the same problem or knows something..please do tell. Best regards and God bless us with health

Almost 21

Hello everybody !

I didn't find any clue to my problem, so I'm asking for your help.

Is it obligatory to have finished 21age during OD ? Please tell me that's not necessary.
I'll be 21 in November : (

Sublime, they did exact same test again? Because I was under the impression a 2nd test so soon won't give any clear resultbecause there is nothing left to collect, why the 3 month waiting period between tests? this could be wrong though, but I would not be surprised if it comes back 'inconclusive'. Is probably best to talk to your recruitment coordinator, explain what they dr said about needing another test and ask if a waiver is possible in this case. If the 2nd test comes up normal you just submit that and they cancel the waiver

Ammd, since you would turn 21 within a few months it SHOULD be ok, however if you are going to OD in a country where it is very competitive, it may be better to wait until you turn 21, to give them no reason to choose others over you. But, since they are doing much recruitment, it might be okay as your DOJ would not be right away in any case. Takes about 8 weeks usually even if you join very fast.

yes, exactly the same test! I haven't heard that you should wait 3 months between them, it's actually the first time I hear it ) well, I think I will wait wednesday for the new result and then I will decide which one to submit. Hope for the best... if it turns out to be the same, I will just submit it like this and hopefully they wont reject me...
did not know this ''waiver'' policy.. thanks for letting me know, will see now what the recruiter says and how this can be solved..

waiting period

hello- well am from Mauritius and here we do not have to go through an agency or something, we just go to the OD and meet the recruiters and eventually we are invited for the AD and FI.

i had my FI on the 16th May and till now nothing (3 months already). i emailed them my pics - no reply from them. i sent them emails after the 6 week waiting period - still no news from them. its as if i do not exist...i even tried to call them but in vain

my status has remained the same "under review".

some people have emailed them and they were lucky enough to at least get a reply or seeing a change in their status. that's weird, since nothing seems to be moving for me.

what do i do now???

FI

Hey guys let me ask you a question:

I attended the OD and AD in Seville last week and all the people we made it to the FI were asked to do an on-line test before the final interview.

I did my FI interview the next day, and there were a few people who were asked to complete a personality test after the FI, I wasn't asked to complete this test..

Is this bad for me, good for me or they just forgot??

I am really concerned about this!!

Please I need some help!!

Hey Hey Hey!

So it is just over a week before I depart for Dubai where il begin my new career with Emirates Airline as cabin crew.

If I can just give a little word of advice to all those who have applied and or are waiting for your Golden calls, I went for a AD in May 2011, I received my Golden call 22 June 2011, I am now leaving 29 August.

I have wanted this for a very long time, and it has happened!
Hang in there and Good Luck
At the end you will relize it was all worth the wait.

So in saying that Are there anyone leaving the same time as me ?

GOOD LUCK and hope to see you all soon

cheers for now

Psychometric Test After FI

Ntello,
Just to share my experience with you. We had 15 peoples went into FI. There were only 5 peoples who did the test after that. Four of us who did the test got call up and one did not get anything. There is also one candidate who did not do the test who got the golden call.
As most of the people here said, we are still holding a chance whenever we yet to receive an unsuccessful email. Have faith with yourself that you will get the call. Best of luck.

I would like to find out who has the same joining date with me which on October the 10th. Hope to know my batch mate before flying over. Thanks!

Hi

Ntello,

That does not mean anything. Those people that had to take test again probably had too many maybe answers. So recruiters were uncertain of their personalities.
Good luck in your waiting weeks.
