Can I also ask how many short haul routes there are from LGW and is it 50/50 long and short? Also does LGW crew cover the LCY/JFK service?

BA - Applying for LHR and LGW

Hello!

I was wondering does anyone know that if I were to apply for the current recruitment at LGW, will I be unable to apply for LHR when they finally start recruiting? Ideally I would rather be at LHR just because of where I live, but I just really want to apply and dont know what would be best!

Any help/answers would be very much appreciated!

Thanks,

Isie

dougie.
Some internal candidates waited three weeks or more to hear. So it does not mean anything that you have not heard yet.

Miguel and Isierocks
If you click on BA.com and then scroll down to the bottom of the front page. You will see 'careers' at the very bottom. Click on 'careers' and it will take you to adverts for cabin crew at LHR and cabin crew at LGW.

BA LGW Mixed Fleet Application

Hi, I applied for BA LGW just before the closing date for online submission so am awiting an interview date - If I get this and/or the training/job itself, I will be coming down from Manchester & hardly know the London Area at all, although I think there are BA flights from MAN - LHR...? can anyone tell me how far is the training centre/interview venue from LHR & LGW...?

Hi everyone,

I have recently been accepted for an assessment day for the Gatwick fleet however there is one thing that concerns me. I'm wondering if anyone can advise me about the vertical function reach. It is a requirement that it has to be 6 foot 7 inches but is this with flat shoes and do they measure up to the knuckle or fingers? I can reach this point at a stretch but sometimes I can't. Are BA strict on this rule? I'd appreciate any help or advice anyone can give. Thank you.

Height Restriction

Hi there!
Got my assessment day coming up on the 26th, and I'm dead worried about the restriction- I measure 6'1 and 1cm without shoes on! I take it they do measure you without shoes? Do you reckon I'll be able to get away with it? Thanks for your useful post

Hi James,

Well done on getting through to the assessment. I have mine coming up on the 9th of December. I'm concerned about the measuring too. After you have had your assessment could you send a post saying how it went and how strict they are, if no one else replies. I'd really appreciate it and I wish you the best of luck!

Hi Clair and James,
I think I read on a different forum to pprune that you had to grip a bar and then rotate you hand but I don't know how far away the bar is. pm me if you want to know where I read it.

1 Measly Cm!!

Hi Clare and Betty
I will let you know how it goes next week; I'm paying about £400 for this interview so if they don't overlook my 1cm I'll be so upset!!

Non-UK Natives during Interview

I would hope to see at least some of us foreign nationals applying to and getting to interview - I myself am an Irish Passport holder (ethnic origins White Irish) but have been living in Manchester since 2002 - I was hoping to get the interview (even at age 40 & with 20+ years retail experience, including my current retail employer) & travelling to LGW from MAN but sadly I got a rejection email - they dont explain why, but the only thing that I can think of was that I was not sure of my dates of employment in retail (most of which was in the Republic of Ireland/Eire) and the same is true of the exact months & years of my education in Ireland and when I was not sure, I sent them an email to explain this (this must have counted against me)

Hello, haven't been on the forum for quite some time now so i do apologise if this question has already been asked. I just got my email a few days ago saying i got the job for mixed fleet out of LHR starting on the 20th Jan so very excited. But am looking for somewhere to stay just for training and am pretty clueless if i'm honest so if anyone has any info or advise much appreciated, and also good luck to anyone who has assesment days lined up. Thankyou x

Training Courses

Hey all,

Hoping one of you knowledgeable people might help or calm my nerves.

Had an assessment day with BA for LHR Mixed Fleet on the 2nd of Nov and got an email a few days later saying I had been successful at the assessment day and they will be in touch soon with the view to offering a training course date

However i've not heard anything back as of yet, so was wondering if anyone else been offered a training course yet, and how long it was between getting a 'yes' and getting the call back. Think im just being silly but very eager and excited about starting.

Thanks in advance!
