BA CityFlyer

Hi there,

does anyone have some inside information about BA CityFlyer?? How is to work for them? How is London City base? Rosters? As I live in France and would love to stay here I am wondering if the schedules are a bit ok to make a combination to be one week in the UK and days off at home.

As I have been working as Purser but unfortunately not on Longhaul I wont be able to apply for the BIG BA so I gave it a try to become Purser within BA CityFlyer. :-)

Many thanks for any information.

BA said on the phone that they are completley different requirements this time, is this the case or are they saying that as it will be different t&c's?

bec beaty,
I am sure if you are going for main crew it will be a similar interview. If you have got previous experience as crew you might be able to apply for 'crew talent' which is the same as crew but a 'manager in the making' and then they might want you to show that you have those qualities in the interview too.

Don't worry I am sure that if you passed the interview the first time you will sale through this time. As you are in the hold pool it may not be the full interview it may be a more relaxed chat to check you are still commited and haven't died your hair purple etc. !!!!

Good luck

BA Recruitment - What to expect?! Help

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here, I stumbled across this forum and would appreciate any help.

I am looking to apply for the Mixed Fleet positions that are coming out anytime soon for BA and really want to know what is involved in the Assesment Day?

Do you have to sit a Maths & English test? My Maths isn't that strong so that is my main worry. What else is involved in the process?

Any tips most welcome!

Thank you!

Last year when I did my assessment it was a group task followed by a 1 on 2 interview by 2 CSD's/Pursers.

All about having the right attitude would be my words of advice!

Height Question?

Hi

Thanks for that! I don't mind the 1-1, it was the actual Maths test I was dreading!

Also, do you know if BA have a height limit for Females? I've read in a lot of posts that the minimum is 5ft 2in? Is this correct?

Thank you again!

5'2" is correct and NO there is no maths test. No written tests at all. It is all about you answering questions about your previous work experience and thus showing them that you have the right attitude and ability to be cabin crew.

for my assessment date last year it was a group exercize, information session and 2-1 interview. just relax and answer as best you can. ive got one coming up again on 29th july.

also does anyone know what the salary would be like for this new cabin crew mixed fleet. i am hearing mixed responses, papers say on par with gatwick rates of around £18000 per year and others say 11000 plus flight pay im slightly confused as this is a big difference!

any suggestions?

thanks

Mixed fleet

The salary will be £11000 per year plus £2.40 per hour flight pay.
There is talk of a performance related bonus but there has not been any info on how much or how that will be achieved.

Hi, Yes there is a group interviews too. You all sit around a table and discuss a senario together. They are just looking for people who contribute to the conversation, give eye contact to the rest of the group, try and include others in the conversation and basically act like a team player ie. contribute but also value the opinions of others.

The salary is a basic of £11,000 plus 2.40 per hour plus bonus payments for performance. They were quoting in the Mail that this would amount to £18,000 per year but I couldn't tell you if that is realistic or not because I am current crew and I don't get paid that way.

Hope that helps.

You are invited to ask questions at the end of your individual interview ( the 1-2 one). It would not affect your chances to ask about the salary, they would think it a perfectly normal question.

GCSE maths

Hello, all.

I'm sorry if this has been covered before but I'm extremely worried about one thing concerning my future application to BA: the GCSE maths grade C requirement.

I applied and got a cabin crew job with BA way back in 2003 and tried to keep up the 'I've lost my certificates' thing but I eventually confessed that I only managed to attain a D. My degree and A-levels didn't count for anything as it was the C in maths that they were after!!

I was told that they would keep the job open for me if I were to go off and re-sit it. That was many years ago and I've since worked for other airlines. So my questions are, how strict are BA with regards to potential recruits having a C in maths? And would a GCSE equivalent qualification do, ie a Certificate in Adult Numeracy level 2 (apparently equivalent to GCSE maths A-C)?

Many thanks in advance for any info regarding this.

Irish for BA Mixed Fleet

I have a Republic of Ireland Passport (as I visit family in Dublin often) for a long time & have lived in Manchester since 2002 - I would go down to London (LGW or LHR) for Mixed Fleet - I would guess that I would not have any problems doing long haul as an older applicant as I have a clean record & would pass the CRB checks
