Good News For Our Existing Temps!!!!!!

This is on our internal forum. With regards to the new recruitment.

This is to advise that current Air Cabin Crew on temporary (11 month fixed-term) contracts do not need to apply for this vacancy should they wish to express an interest in returning to employment with British Airways following the end of their contract. Instead, all current worldwide temporary crew are being invited to attend a discussion with their Cabin Crew Manager prior to the end of their contract during which expressions of interest to return are being noted and considered.

Not such good news for hold-poolers! Sorry for you all but think the temps will take all new positions in the new hold-pool.

I also hope that the temporary crew that completed their contracts in November and December last year are also given the option to be placed in the hold-pool should they wish.

Hi guys!

I just received an invitation for an assessment day at Heathrow for the Air Cabin Crew Hold-pool Vacancy!

I booked the 2nd of february in the afternoon. Is anyone else attending at the same date?

Also, they say in the email to follow a link in order to complete the 5 years history but I can't find it... I just sent an email to the recruitment team to find out how to complete the online form.

Cheers

Alann

The invite to interview email says that the link will be provided once you've booked an assessment date however the interview confirmation email says one was provided in the invite to assessment email. I guess they've made a mistake and we'll all receive another email tomorrow with the link. Good luck!

Make sure that you rehearse 'what to say about yourself and what type of experience you have had'. How might you deal with a difficult passenger, customer. Come along dressed in a suit, make up in moderation, as so jewellery. A good measure is to ask mum or dad how you look. The day is to assess among other issues what you might look like in a uniform, therefore wear a uniform suit.
Spend sometime on the web looking at all BA offers, class of travel, routes, new ones, Oneworld, future plans and the general aviation situation. You will not go wrong using this site to read up on the many threads. Ignore some of the BA stuff on this thread as they spend much of their time winging and moaning about T & C. Use your familly and friends to speak about yourself briefly, do not be scared, be yourself. Do not make up things and when you practise make sure those listenning fully understand you. Remember just because you know what you do others do not. Think of what you do and list every bit of it to paint a picture of the perfect you and how we cannot afford not to employ you.

20th Feb

Hi Everyone,

I have booked myself onto the assessment on 20th Feb,I was wondering if anyone else is going to be there on that day? Im booked for 12:30. Also It says in the email that they will send a link so I can input my 5 years references, but there wasn't a link on either email that I received. I saw on an earlier thread that other people had this problem.

Good luck to everyone who has got assessments coming up!

James

national insurance number

hi all,
I've received my assessment day booking right now but they ask to bring with me the National Insurance number for non-Uk citizens ( I'm from Italy); what is it and how can I obtain it??? I'm obliged to have it for the assessment?

thank's for all.

Sognandoil380,

Don't worry about the national insurance number! This is something you would need to apply for through HM Revenue & Customs once you have been given employment.

A friend of mine, not British citizen, completed a temporary contract without the national insurance number. It's actually for you as to how much taxes you should pay.

At the interview, explain that you will apply for it should you be successful as you are not a citizen of the UK! This is what my friend did and it worked out well for him.

HZ123, I'm a cabin crew selector with BA and 90% of what you just wrote is utter nonsense.

The majority of what HZ has said is common sense stuff - how can it be nonsense?

Some advice?

Snowbound,

As crew selector, wouldn't you be the best person to give aspiring candidates advice, as opposed to just telling someone their advice is 'nonsense'?

I personally followed similar advice to HZ's, and was successful at the interview. It might not be the 'make all or break all' of your interview, but it certainly helps.

Just for info

Dear all,
is there anybody in the forum from italy who has been working for BA or something else? Just to know and receive some informations about working in UK . I mean, I live in Italy and I would like to know if is it possible (or human!!) to use facilities to come back to my country by working in Heatrow and if it's necessary to have a car in London .

Thank you very much for all your info!!

Because Student88, common sense doesn't always guarantee success.
