Casual in Oz (Altara or MAM)

Hi guys,

I've never worked as CC, but am very keen to start.
Last week, I went to a Jetstar (Altara) interview for a Sept 12 GS in MEL and was offered the position today.
I've also applied for Qantas (MAM casual) and have that interview next Monday the 8th.

The QF role definitely sounds better - the 20 guaranteed days would certainly appeal to me, despite having little say in when you actually work.
JQ was very fortright in telling us that our hours could very much drop in non-peak times to 10 hours/wk in bad months.

My indecision lies in the future of each role. With JQ growing rapidly & still young, I understand that the opportunity to go full-time OR to transfer to a training role is there (albeit competitive I'm sure - I'm from a customer service manager background in a retail headoffice, so staff training may interest me once I'm worn out from flying).
Casual seems like the future for QF & there appears to be zero chance to transfer from casual to mainstream cabin crew.

Any advice or views on either company would be very much appreciated.

QF interview isn't until next week, so their may well be no decision to make, but any ideas if casual GS's are scheduled for the near future? With the voluntary redundancies on offer, I'm wondering whether recruitment will be put on hold?

Thanks

Does anyone know why MAM doesn't recruit for Sydney?
