Hi Tyman,

Jetstar Domestic does only day trips. Very rarely will you get an overnight and that is usually due to an aircraft being out of service or a shortage at another base. So basically you're sleeping in your own bed every night

Newbie earnings??

Hi all,

Just wondering if any JQD crew could shed any light on what new "Team Jetstar" Cabin Crew will potentially earn? (Pls PM me if this information is sensitive)

Have just applied for the SYD base, and just a bit curious to potential earnings as I currently fly for an airline based in LHR and commute to SYD. At the stage where the 11,000 mile commute is getting to me.

Any information regarding JQD and the new Team Jetstar contract will be most appreciated.

Many Thanks

I did the recruitment day last week and i found it interesting that in my small group during the height test everyone was 2-4cm shorter than what they had measured themselves at home.

the next step!

hey everyone

Just wondering if anyone has heard from Jetstar recently? I had my AD in MEL on thursday the 10th, got called back for afternoon tea and had my second interview. On the 15th they contacted from one of my references and then nothing. I read in most of the posts that they send you an email with medical and criminal check. Has anyone had any luck? This is killing me!

PS. i know how close it is to xmas, but i just want to know!

Hello Everyone!

I am new in the forum, particularly here.

I would like to ask if JetStar is hiring other nationality like Filipino? I am interested to be part of it. How?

I am also a cabin crew for private operations, based in Saudi Arabia.

Thanks.

Too bad it's so hot in Darwin ... otherwise I'd be going for those long haul positions!

Casual Cabin Crew - SYD

Hello!
Merry Christmas fellow pruners!!
I have been invited to attend an assessment day for casual cabin crew - SYD for JQ.
I'm based in MEL, but prepared to make the trek as I believe the opportunity would be fantastic to work for a QF Company.

Is anyone aware if the casual mob in SYD do domestic/int, and what are the basic hours (ie. as a minimum - how does this compare to MAM) and hourly rate.
Any info would be great as I need to book my flight.
For those that may want to keep details private, please PM me.

See you in the sky ;-)

I have also been invited to the RD in Sydney on the 5th of January. I'm not sure, as I am from Perth and have never been to an invite only RD before, if I should/could go. It is also super short notice. What exactly do you think I'm in for when they say it's for casual cabin crew positions? If I get a position is this going to be sufficient that I can earn a living having moved from Perth to Sydney to take a job with them? I feel nervous at the prospect of something so huge and such a move, but really do want to break into this industry. I have also been invited to a RD for Cobham in late January, so it's not like I don't have a chance, although I know I should take what I can get.
What do you guys think? I'm just so unsure!

Oh my gosh guys that is sooo exciting! I cant believe that ad was for Team JQ!!! I applied for OOL base but havnt heard back yet...I am also very interested to know what the hours/rate/conditions would be like? It would be great if there was a garenteed min hours per month/roster but who knows. I am just excited that JQ are recruiting! Good luck to all who applied and Merry Christmas

Wink

in the old days when i worked at JQI drw intl was all return flying, ie drw-dps-drw, drw-sin-drw,etc... highly unglamorous, all on the little A320, actually classified as short haul international!

That means no overnights and commuting would be tricky, mel-drw flights tend to be VERY busy and doing that after a bali return would not be nice...

think about it wisely, go to the RD and see what they offer, they are a good company but just be prepared!

good luck

Hellorian is right on the money. DRW base has the worst flying out of all the bases and is def not LongHaul. The hours are long haul but there will be no overnights. Most of the crew arent even endorsed on the 330.

DRW DPS DRW about 9 hours
DRW SGN DRW about 13.5 hours
DRW SIN DRW About 12.5 hours
DRW SYD DRW about 11 hours
DRW MEL DRW about 11 hours

Bali on monday night. Sign off on tuesday morning. Tuesday afternoon you are signing onto a Saigon flight. Sign off on wednesday morning. Wednesday arvo you sign onto a Bali. Sign on for another Saigon that afternoon. Repeat repeat. You get the idea. No potential for a decent home life let alone commuting.

Think carefully
