Virgin training times
Hello evryone! This is my first post so hopefully this will end up where i want it to!! i have just been accepted onto a training course with Virgin and am trying to decide if i will commute or find accommodation nearby. i know the days start at 9.30 but they have not mentioned what time they will finnish. Does anyone have any idea?

Applying for CC job with VA and require a little help
Hi there. I am currently in the middle of filling out an online application for a Cabrin Crew job with Virgin Atlantic, and I was wondering if any current crew members, or successful candidates can give me any tips to help me with it. Thank you.

Looking forward to meeting you, have you also got your induction day on 21st Jan?
I need acc too but I haven't found anywhere yet, I'm going to call the people on the list they gave us so I will keep you posted.
Let me know if you find anywhere, I'm also happy to share(I'm on a tight budget) so if I find a place with 2 rooms then I will let you know if your interested

Yes, I am on that induction day too! Have got my uniform fitting that day too at 8am, so quite an early start for me! It will be nice to know someone's name at least!
Were you at interview on the same days as me then? I went on a Wednesday in early November, I think it was the 7th Nov, there were loads of people there.
I have found somewhere to stay hun, I called the number that Pokergirl gave me last night, it works out at £10 per night, call 01293 784 541 and speak to Maurice, lovely guy, very friendly, they have been established for 10yrs+ and have Virgin girls there quite alot, so try and get in there fast! Let me know how you get on. x

Yes I had my interview on Wed 07th Nov too, I couldn't believe how many people were there and I didn't think for a minute I would get through especially as so many of them had flying experience and I have none!! I was in the red group (all girls) and had the group task first, which group were you in?
Thanks for the info, I've just called that guy and he is fully booked now, however he has asked me to call back tonight as he has a friend who does the same thing and also charges the same price.
I'm still really nervous about the trg course, especially when I saw the 88% pass that you need to achieve

I know, there were loads of people weren't there!! I had quite a shock when I walked in too! I was in the Blue group, had the tests first
, was really panicking when I realised it, but I suppose it was good to get them out of the way!
What a shame!! But at least he knows someone else who can do it for you at that rate, honestly, that is the cheapest I have found anywhere and I have tried quite a few! One was charging a total rate of £819! Shocker!!
I know, the training is not something I am looking forward to very much! You really do need to put your head down and revise, I used to work for Virgin a few years ago and I went through the whole training business, it was ok, but you do need to be sensible with your social life...rephrase, what social life?! lol!
You'll be fine though hun, honestly you will. Put in as much effort as you can, and you'll sail through with no troubles!

Haven't started the e-learning, still waiting for it to arrive thorugh the post....called Virgin yesterday to see if I should have had it by now, they said it should be with us at least 2 weeks prior to start date, but she mentioned that if it is not with me by mid next week, to call them, so excited, I just can't wait!!
The induction day should be fun, it will be nice to meet everyone prior to our actual start date...hhow exciting it all is!

I was in the group on the left hand side as you walk in.
About the e-learning, it's not hard but just a lot to take in, i'd suggest taking note whilst going through the learning bits, so when you come to the testing bits you'll have notes and something to refer back to...btw you'll need lots of ink in your printer as you'll need to print off all you pass marks and some other stuff, like check lists.
There is a lot of information and forms in the pack you get, so make sure you put some time aside to do it all.
Have you seen some of the videos on youtube of the virgin training groups? It gives you some idea of what to expect on the training...but i'm sure they'll go through all that at induction.

Tanya-thanks so much for that number, my accomodation is now booked and is the same price as yours so I'm really pleased (Maurice's friend), I will be about 15 mins drive from the base.
Not sure what I will wear to the induction but probably a black pencil skirt with a smart shirt or something.

are you asking about commuting from Warwickshire during training or once you're online?
If you want to commute from there while you're training you'll really really struggle. I live in Warks and on a good day it takes me one and a half hours to get to LHR, going to LGW I usually add another hour and a half on top of that as the M25 can be, and usually is complete hell. Add to all that the revision you must do each night to hope to be able to pass the course. I'd advise you to move to Crawley for six weeks!
On the other hand, it's no problem once you're flying, as it's obviously not every day. Most of your flights will be from LHR anyway, and when from LGW you can have a kip on the crew bus round the M25.
Also, you don't always start at 9.30 - a lot of the time you'll start at 8. The days finish when they finish. Once everybody is happy with what has been covered in the day, once all questions have been asked and answers understood. Some days we finished at 4, some days 7 (there were a lot of questions asked in my group).

Thank you for your reply r.s and all the inofrmation you gave. If you dont mind me asking -where in Warwickshire do you live? I am in Stratford. Anyway, I meant commuting for the training but from my sisters in Wimbledon and just wanted to try and plan a bit and work out the costs etc - might just worth staying mearby the Base.
