Thanks for that info Nicola1 - gosh, you make it sound so easy, but I know it won't be for me. Good Luck to all Virgin wannabees!

Yes, that's me. I remember you now you have said your name.

I wonder if any of the others got through? It would be nice to know if they had?

I'm so excited but scared at the same time. I know you are already in the trade but i suppose you will be learning all of Virgins procedures? I don't like the sound of the pass mark you need every day on the exams? What happens if you fail - do you get another chance? Also, i've heard we have to do a swimming drill at around 5am in the morning!!

When i left the base on the 22nd, i drove all the way back home (180 miles) thinking about the interview and wondering if i'd done enough. Got home about 16.45pm, popped into work as Virgin had my works email address, then i had the email at 17.00pm.

I went out all night celebrating drinking champagne!!

Hey Claire!
I had an interview on the 7th too. Mine was in the morning (at 9.30) and I got the job too!!! Woohoo! I'm just waiting on the start date too, but I spoke to the HR people the other day and said that the training for us will start in Feb and will let us know by e-mail as soon as they have a firm date for us.

We can keep each other informed by using this forum cause I know nearer the time I will need to sort out accomm for my course and I'm definitley up for sharing a place or sharing travel etc..if anyone is interested. Especially if it makes life easier and cheaper! I'm based in Reading at the mo.

Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone knows whether Virgin currently have a maths test? I know they suspended it for a while.

I did apply once before and got through the group stage but failed the maths.
Thanks.

When I went for my interview they did have a maths test, it's really nothing to worry about. It's just stuff like working out time zones, adding, subtracting. As I remember there were only 12 questions for the maths and 15 questions for the memory test. The best advise I can give for the maths test is to use the space that they provide to do your working out. Other than that it's stuff that can be done you just need to think about it and work it out.

Virgin group interview

If anyone could give me tips on how to pass the group interview stage, it would be much appreciated. I've been rejected for Cabin Crew jobs four times in a row, I can't let this be the fifth...!

Wannabee book

Hi all,

Really new to all this. Finally decided to take the plunge and apply. Fingers crossed!!!

Just wanted to say to any other wannabee's that i found a really useful book that was about becoming crew at virgin & ba. Called 'The new Recruits Guide' and for those who dont really know what to expect is was really useful especially about the interview. its at www.glamguides.com

Helped me loads so just thought it might help someone else.

Hate the waiting around tho. How long have people waited to hear if they've got an interview???

Hello all,

Applied for Virgin Cabin crew last week and I was wondering how long it takes for a reply?? The standard email said that they will go through the applications after the closing date but how do I check when that is?!

Cheers,
Missydk

Hi Babygirlxmelx,

I was on hold in Nov for cabin crew but I've just got a letter to advise that my start date is 4th Feb. Once you receive your offer letter, it actually advises a list of places to stay whilst you are on your trg course (it did in my offer pack).

Aussie Pilot

Hi there
I have a friend in recruitment and they allow up to 15 spelling mistakes per application. I presume English is not your native tongue as the way you speak sounds to me European. I hope to not offend but next time maybe get someone to proof read your application before you subimit it.
Good luck next time around.

Hey Claire, I got my start date and it seems we're on the same course!!! Do you also have your induction on the 28th Jan?
Do you know how many weeks the training is? I seem to remember someone saying it's 6 weeks, is this right?

Is there anyone else starting their CC training on the 4th Feb?

Hi Mr Pate,

No my induction is 21st Jan, I wonder why we have a different induction day when our course date is the same, maybe there will be loads of new recruits? Yeah, I think it advises in the letter that the course is 6 weeks, just hope I pass!!

Hey just read the letter properly and it is on the 21st!!! How stupid of me.
I have a friend who works for virgin at the mo (Based at MAN) he remembers the tests during training to be managable, he said that you just need to over do the reading as you won't know what kind of questions they may ask so you should know the material back to front. Other than that you can't go too wrong if we work hard at it.

Hi Mr Pate,

Do you know what happens if you fail any part of your training? I've heard you get tested every day and have a minimum % to get - what happens if you don't get this? Are there only a certain number of times you can fail then you get chucked off the course?

Thanks
