elrehab,
You are provided one with an application through Virgin Australia as an ASIC Issuing Body.
For cabin crew you need a red AUS ASIC. This is the highest level of ASIC you can obtain.

Thats a really good question - am waiting to hear still
Thanks for your PM helps heaps.
I hope the interviews are soon as I have to give 4 weeks notice at work, which the current timing will be good as at work coming up to the quiet time at a private hospital - all the doctors have holidays.

VAustralia (International)
I had my VA interview in Sydney in July, and I have been told that I have been successful so far, but I am still waiting for a training date.
I read somewhere that after a certain amount of time you have to do another interview - is this true? If so, how long?
Also, anyone heard about this:
News Item : Virgin heavy maintenance plans
- VA planes not operating to Abu Dhabi for a few months? Eeek! Is this true?

Marly,
No, this is kiiiilling me. The waiting game is not a game im good at haha. Im assuming these people who are hearing things have applied a while ago? My friend who started gs a couple of weeks ago is heading to Brisbane next week for the training. Have you applied for other airlines?

HighFlyer11,
you said your friend is heading to brisbane for g/s, what base is that for? I heard for the Perth base you do inital training here then head to Mel for EP's etc. I didn't think they did g/s in Brisbane anymore obviously they are? I'm kicking myself as I was invited to an AD back in August & didn't go as I progressed the the final stages with Qantaslink to only get rejected @ the final review -and I have not heard anything from Virgin since? Ah yes the waiting game sure does suck waited 6 weeks for Qantaslink and it got me nowhere just back to square one!

Hi Shelbs. Most of the ground school for Perth is still done in Perth (including the people in the current ground school). However EPs are done at either the Melbourne OR Brisbane simulators.

Thanks PaPaG24!!
I see!
I went to the assessment day at the end of August, and they called my references after 2 weeks, and I got a call middle of september saying that I had pass and would start on the next ground school for Brisbane, but still haven't done the medicals yet. :-(

Sydney 90,
The medical is very basic. You can expect to give a urine sample, basic eye sight/colour blind test, joint test, lung test and a hearing test. Obviously any injections you require must be attained as well.
It is really a very basic and painless exercise.
