Well you never know. Look what you said about all of the EK girls getting through. Never say never though.

Not sure what to wear now, I was going to get glammed up (maybe a knee lenght skirt with jacket) but when you mentioned the girls got through who were not as done up, made me think more about just wearing trouser suit!

I have just spoke to someone from Amiri this morning , asking me to attend an interview. Amiri and Presidential are the same company (as you already know) so not sure if i should go for both.

Why done you go for the Amiri one? Or was that what you went for befor? Not the Presidential?

amiri is the old name for presidential flight
right now there is only presidential
when i was applying there was only amiri
so it was some time ago.....

well I thought that to but when i spoke to this recruitment agency, I explained about th presidential interview and he said they still have Amiri.....

Who knows, but I think we are right about there being only presidential.

Mayebe this time. Well normally it is between 2-3 years first class experience but I dont think Amiri stated 2-3 years (dont quote me on that one) .

Ideas on pulling down a good corporate job?

Hi!

My best suggestion for getting a corporate job is to make friends. Let go of a mentality that you need to be a seasoned Flight Attendant to prove yourself in the corporate world. I sense the more one stresses their qualifications, the more they'd distance themself from the showcasing their good-natured personality that wins contacts and references. Make friends with the people at the FBO, the airports, the pilots at the crew hotels - be sincere. How many people's resumes go to the top of the stack by cold-calling at the big charters/fractionals?? Not too many, I would guess. Smiling goes a long way. The desk personnel at the FBO meet how many corporate crews a day, and how many do they know personally? Maybe work part-time at the FBO? Look for reasons to stop by the FBO in a nice business suit, or maybe try your hand working at the corporate caterers?

I suspect that people in corporate hire people they can tolerate on the road. We've all been there. Corporate isn't crewed by the powers that be - if a crew doesn't like you, you won't last. It's waitressing for your teammates. Your skills should give you the quiet confidence to know you belong. There are so many more people working as Flight Attendants in VVIP that have so much less experience than you (and by you I mean just about anybody).

Corporate Flight Attending is waitressing with wings. It's just like working at a restauraunt, except that you are also the hostess, and the bus boy, and the cook, and the bartender, and the person that gets to clean the toilets, and take the laundry to the laundromat and to wrestle with the hotel fax machine at 3am trying to get a catering order in...it's about erratic hours and getting along. You already know about the fire extinguishers and the doors.

Make no mistake - I sincerely believe in a well-trained, confident, safe Flight Attendant. When it comes to pulling down the sweet job - be prepared to make friends.

Corporate/VIP Flight Attendant

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction re: corporate/VIP cabin crew.

I am currently working as a senior crew member for a low cost airline in the UK, I have 7 years flying experience long-haul and short-haul, first class, business class, single crew experience.

I have been looking into VIP flying for some time and know that it is very difficult to find a job as a corporate FA.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should look? I know NetJets aren't recruiting at the moment and most staff are taking a work reduction.

I'm a male FA which I know will further reduce the possibilities!

Any help or advice would be really appreciated.

I have searched and searched again, I appreciate there are a lot of posts relating to corporate FA jobs, mainly in the middle east and most relate to 1 person who has an interview and everyone else wishing them luck, it's great to have support from people but it's hardly the information i'm searching for.

Agree with Flinstone, I dont want to be rude but nothing comes on a silver tray you know...there are so many info you can find on pprune, also google something...there are so many VIP companies that you cant even name them all... If you have more specific questions about something or some company maybe we can help each other but... I saw one thread where everybody posted their years of experience and AC types and gender and other stuff waiting for a job to knock on their doors, maybe try that, never know-might get lucky

Thanks for your replies I perhaps worded my post a little incorrectly, giving the impression that I was expecting someone to come up with a miracle.

I have searched PPRUNE for years (without registering) and have always found the information I have searched for.

I have searched online for private jet companies including: Jet Republic (I'm too tall), Global Jet, NetJets, Amiri/Presidential, NAS, Ocean Sky and many more, I have done some research.

It would have perhaps been better to ask:

Does anyone know which VIP/Corporate companies recruit male FAs and are based in the UK or allow commuting?

Apologies if I have caused offence to anyone who thought I'd strolled up hoping for the answer to my prayers, I'm not naive enough to think that life works that way.

Yap, well as we all here are looking for something and for some help and tips and so on and so on.
And you are also a male...damn...I mean- its already hard to get in the private flying but for a male probably its almost like hitting to a wall all the time. Have no clue about UK and their private sector, dont think their market is that big... I was doing my regular web sniffing when I saw one add where they were looking for VVIP CC in ME(think it was Abu-Dhabi but might be wrong) and what surprised me was that they were looking only male CC. Didnt posted it here cos add was already expired few weeks ago, cant also remember where I saw it, but if I will find it again I will PM to you-they might update it with new vacancies
About NJ I have 2 friends working with them, they planned to make opening for CC during 2009 but cos of this all crisis nithing will happen, and also thats the place where you need a smile and friends, as I have been informed they hire almost only by recommendations, and even if you will get some friends in there they wont hire new CC at least this year- those friends of mine- one was laid off already and one is still in there but hes also not sure how long he will stay...

The answer to your question "Who's recruiting?", to be brutally honest, is just about nobody at the moment. As with all sections of our industry most companies are pulling their horns in which has left many experienced CC seeking work. No surprises for guessing who will be best placed when the upturn comes, them or an outsider.

That might sound a little excluding but bizjets really is quite a small world within aviation. With the exception of one or two of the larger companies almost every job is filled by word of mouth and personal recommendation so your best way in is to start meeting people. Given the way things are at the moment I'd suggest sticking with your current job and using your free time to visit the right places.

Have no clue about UK and their private sector, dont think their market is that big...

Have no clue is right. While it's obviously not as big as the US it's certainly healthier than most of Europe and pays better.
