Offer Qatar Amiri

Been offered a position with Qatar Amiri!

They sent me the contract the other day and I'm surprised with the conditions which were not mentioned during the interview. They are being separated from QR and from then there will be no staff travel benefits whatsoever. No annual leave given during the probation period (I think most airlines in the ME have this regulation) and a one year binding contract which must be reimbursed if you resign within twelve months.

None of this was mentioned in the interview! Are they as poorly as QR Mainline? Advice would be appreciated!

Hi! I fly as a VIP Fligh Attendant and we often go to Qatar - the living conditions with the Company can be pretty third world, so look into the small print. Qatar is a nice place but still quite small, so be sure you get your annual leave in the small print. They should pay for your ticket home at least once a year. As for no airline discounts - that is quite possible, they run the Amiri Flight as a separate entity. Dont be afraid to ask questions.
Good Luck!

Qatar Amiri

Hi.

i also have an interview with Amiri. Noticed the post about the possibility of no staff travel but when I spoke to a woman called Florance she mentioned alot of annual leave!

Could anyone give any information on the process befor you get asked to fly to Doha for the interview as I am a bit reluctant!

many thanks

Of course she was telling you about annual leave as that's the only good thing about Qatar Amiri. It's around 40 days.

Other than that, they are being separated from QR Mainline and that means no travel concessions. There were so many things they "forgot" to mention in the interview, one being that you have to sign a one year bond. Unbelievable they forgot to mention this in the interview and you only find out when they send you the contract.

The salary is around $2000 for being on standby 24/7. No transportation to and from the airport as that will be your responsibility.

Confused.com

Guys, I have a bit of a problem too, I too have been flying for 10 years and finally managed to get into corporate a year or so ago..my problem is this: work for a great company, absolutly love it, great people, atmosphere etc..and I know good and bad atmospheres, BUT Im not on the greatest of planes, the crew are fantastic etc, but, small plane, credit crunch, not too far destinations etc, I want more of a challenge now, having worked on few different private jets. Next part of my problem, have been offered an interview for a company I applied to donkeys ago, and have inside friends there and looks like I may be lucky, the company seem to be on par with my present, but my dilema is, do I stay where I am, happy in the company I work for, but with small plane, smallish money, maybe not getting anywhere, or maybe so but who knows when, or do I go to this other place bearing in mind if I get it, more money, bigger plane and risk burning my bridges where I am???? Sorry for the rant, but, I just need some advice or suggestions please, cos Im going nuts at the moment!!!!!!!!!! Don't mean to moan when I know so many others want to get into corporate or don't have a job, I been there too!! xxx
