NetJets-tax

HI!

I have a question.

Do you know about taxes at NetJets Europe? I heard some opinions but I think the poeple were wrong.

As it is an off-shore company and based in Portugal where do you have to pay taxes and how much? I know that the salary (basic, flight allowance, meal allowance) all together is appr. 4000 euro per month.

Obviously, no pension, no healthcare - you can pay it wherever you are based.

So, the tax: is it true that you pay it only in Portugal (22%) and that's it? I checked the law about income tax in my country. It says that I have to pay taxes in the country where my income comes from. I hope it would be legal like this because I should pay 42% where my base would be.

Is my information correct?

How many crew do work on those aircrafts? I heard that there is only one cabin crew - never two - and the flight deck. Is that rigt? Do they fly long and short-haul as well?

Thanks.

Be prepared to work on mainline (QR) for six months before you actually get to Qatar Amiri. If you last that long, that is...

Thumbs up The sons take over!

There is a women called Helen Conlon who interviews for the two sons now, they have two aircrafts and their mother has her own. Not to be confused with the other Helen who recruits for Kalair. Both are good companies to work for but Kalair is by far the best one out there.

Angry Kalair

I have just joined this site and have read all the garbage written about Kalair, I have to say by people who by the sounds of things only managed to get as far as an interview. I attended an interview with Kalair last year, Helen was very up front with me and said that I may only get one months work out of it as they had a few girls to trial, they had just made big changes in the crewing as all the older crew who reached 40 had been retired after long 11/15 years service, ( I dont know of any other private company who keeps their crew so old or for so long)!!! Anyway I got a trial, it was fantastic, I am very envious of the four new girls they have hired recently. One of my friends from Aussie goes back to work for them regularly, they fly her business class from there, she still maintains that it is a great company to work for....... so draw a line under it all of you who didnt get the chance to work for them and move on, there are other jobs out there if you keep your ear to the ground, they may not be of the same status but still good companies.

Thumbs down ParisMonaco - reply

I know all about your friend who worked for kalair and is now living in Dubai, she left under a dark cloud!!! or was she asked to leave???? Your comments are bang out of order, I have and two of my friends have first hand experience with Kalair, I really dont understand why people like you write such drival, are you just trying to put people off so that you may have a better chance in getting in?? its people like you who give private flying jobs a bad name. I worked on board Kalairs aircraft and there was no hint of anything sleez, the principal was charming and so was his family. And as for Helen having a house in the South of France, where do you get your facts from??? she has a house in Cornwall, hardly the Cote D'Azur darling! I know this as we got talking about horses and I rode at one of the big events near her house. Maybe you are mixing her up with Helen Conlon who has a pad in Normandy.

From reading some posts I am a bit concerned they will only take me on for a month- if this is not the case and only rumour would you let me know. i really want to go into Private flying, but dont want to take a chance if nothing comes out of it in the end. warm regards

Thumbs up Kalair interviews

One of my friends is temping for Kalair at the moment, she said they are definatley looking to take on four more girls on a permanent basis, I know they just hired one girl last month. They apparently have another aircraft coming soon also. If you have managed to get an interview you should definately go, this is one of those chance in a life time jobs, im sure they must get millions of girls applying. I guess they are in a position to be choosey thats why they interivew alot but if you stand out form the rest you will be in for a good chance. Put your concerns forward at the interview and make your mind up, that is of course if you are offered a trial. When is your interview? my cousin wants to apply, she doesnt have private experience but like you wants to get into it. - hope this helps

Mari,

As no one has answered your question, I'll have a go.
NetJets Europe is now onshore with respect to contracts. It's difficult to describe in a few words, but how much tax you pay is dependent on which country you live in. eg, if you live in the UK it's the normal PAYE tax rate. Other countries are on a split Portugal/UK tax deal which comes to about 20% and ?% National insurance.

There is a pension if you're UK based, there's a savings plan for the continental crews. Pension is being worked on.

Health care. It's a BUPA package and it's free.

Usually it's 1 cabin crew member with 2 pilots. This may change if training etc. (I am not on the fleets where there's a FA). The fleets that have a FA are the Hawker 4000 (new), Falcon 2000, 900 and 7X (new), as well as teh Gulfstreams. Flights are medium to ultra long haul depending.

Angel Hi Olly:)

Thanks for your help, I have my interview end of July. I resigned from five years flying with Emirates 9 weeks ago, and I am now working as a manager for a large cosmetic company. I am desperate to get into private flying. My flying licences have expired, will that affect me? what type of questions do they ask? sorry to ask, but this is my dream job

CabinCrew 78,

We do tours of 6 days on, 5 days off. So, it's 5 nights away. I believe if you're on the Gulfstream you could do 7 days away.

Where have I been? All over Europe, bits of Russia, into northern Africa and the Gran Canaries too.

As for interviews, I'm a pilot so the emphasis for me was my GA experience. I don't know what makes a CV special for FAs. Perhaps First Class service, silver service, language skills and so on. Sorry I can't help any further.

Smile Hi Jennifermay

I had my interview quite a while back, the lady interviewing makes you feel very at ease, I think the best thing is just be yourself, she asked me what I liked about my past employment and what I didnt. I had to talk about myself for a few mins and she actually sounded interested in what I had to say which was fairly refreshing compared to other interviews that I had attended. We then got talking about horses as I asked what the principal liked to do in his spare time and horses came into the conversation. I have evented for a number of years so this was ground that we had in common, which I think may have helped!!! I had lots of info about Kalair before and to be honest alot of it was from girls who had not worked on the aircraft and had been unsucessful in the interview, I just thought It must be sour grapes, I remember a friend of mine telling me that there is an old saying that when someone cant reach the best fruit at the top of the tree they say its ****, after working for these guys I can see why anyone would be pissed off that they didnt get a chance at it.
Good luck with the interview, let me know how it goes and dont forget to smile oh and the interview lasted just over an hour.

Redsnail, Thank u for ur reply..... I'll keep my fingers crossed, hoping for an interview with Netjets one day!!!!

Had few Netjets pilots, positioning, on board my flights recently and got talking to them (as u do!!!) and they told me that it's easier to get called for an interview if u know someone within the company that can give ur CV to the Recruitment Team.... that's a bit tough!!!!

P.S. I was wondering if u wouldn't mind to pass them on my CV ........just kidding!!!!!!! I hope one day we'll manage to fly together in Netjets.... that would b great!!!!

Take Care,

CabinCrew78

At least it used to be flying on mainline before going to Amiri. I was there for a couple of years!
