I am very happy that I was able to attend a first aid training in such short time. I did mine yesterday, but here in Germany they also have a lot of different ones, so I am not sure if this is the right one. It was a 8 hours training, but they also have 16 hour trainings. But I am glad, that I at least now have a First Aid Certificate, even if it might not be the right one.
I am wearing contact lenses. Because I don`t have a recent certificate from my ophthalmologist yet, I scheduled an appointment for next Monday. The only problem will be, I won`t have enough time to translate the certificate into English, so it will be in German. All the other papers, like educational certificates and the first aid certificate are already translated into the English language. Hope this will be ok!

I just read at the application form, which we had to fill out and sent in, the following:

CERTIFICATES:
I am able to furnish Originals of the following should I be invited to attend an interview:
Birth certificate
Evidence of Education
Originals should not be sent with your application but will need to be presented if you are invited to an interview.

So, do we also have to bring our birth certificate with us?

Most airline I've seen is that you bring along your birth cert. when you are called up for an interview.

Hello From New Zealand

Hello

My name is Lee I stumbled across your forum today and have read your exciting story. It’s only a few days until you all have your interviews at the assessment centre I bet you all can’t wait…. I have quite a few friends that work for Air New Zealand’s Head Office in Auckland NZ.. And myself I’m a Pilot but have only been flying for a few years for a charter company here in NZ part time….

Well I wish you all the best of luck and hope you get the chance to come and visit wonderful New Zealand.

First Aid Certs

Called Melanie in Air NZ Recruitment and told her that I have st Johns Ambulance 3 year 1st aid at work cert but I had qualified 13 months ago, she told me this is fine but they really only need the cert if you are offered a position and before you sign contracts etc!!

A BIG Good luck to all of you who are going up for interviews this week!

Miss Approach I shall be looking for the kiwi on your head!

Hi warwicks
Usually the only way we get to go over LHR is if we can get a UK residence visa however last year just before they launched LHR-HKG they had to boost numbers ,they sent about 60 crew over on a 2yr secondment you had to apply for it and meet certain criteria, but Its a good time for us as the airline has jus announced AKL-YVR as of november on the 777 thrice weekly and at least one new LH destination every yr....

Hi NZ,

Do you think that the new Longhaul destinations will include any more for LHR based crew? I know that it is very difficult to call but you will have more of an ear to the ground at Air NZ.

Have my interview on Wednesday- hopefully it will go well.

Good luck to everyone for today and Wednesday

Hey ..I work for Air New Zealand in auckland pacific crew ..They are a great company to workfor howeverthey ar equite conservative in there values still although they are making changes to there image...down here its great we get lots of support and I have been flying for just over a year and already in line for promotion ...so go for it LHR base to my understanding has double its numbers due to the new routes...
NZ Boy:
Where in your contract might it say that you are Pacific Crew. Zeal320 crew masquerading as Pacific Crew really do not make the relationship between the two groups any better.

Hi warwicks,

I will be at the Jurys Inn Hotel at least 30 minutes earlier, I think I will be there around 12:30.
See you tomorrow! I am also very nervous.

Just got home after the Air NZ interview and from what they have said I want the job even more!!

The group exercise was the hardest thing as it is always difficult to try and gauge what they are looking for and as they are only looking for 30 crew it is going to be a really difficult airline to get into, however the benefits for anyone that does look great.

I wish everyone luck and while I am crossing my fingers for me I will keep them crossed for everyone else as well.

Hello!

HI Qanatswannabie!

I keep going over the 2 on 1 interview in my head! I wish I could stop thinking about it and move on with my life for the next few weeks!!! It was great to meet you and yeh there was lot's of nice people at the interview. We all deserve to get it!!!

Yes they did say they needed 40 in total! If it is now down to 30 does that mean they only picked 10 from Monday?!?

I am keen to hear more comments on todays interviews ...

Hey MA/ QW,

30 is what the training manager told us he was looking for overall. I hope that you guys are right and it is 40. I like the fact he said that if we were good enough we would go in a holding pool though as I would be willing to wait for such a good position.

I hardly slept last night thinking about what I had said during the day and wondering if I had done enough

Good luck to everyone- as soon as anyone hears let us know on here!!

Hi everybody,

it was such a long day for me yesterday, had to get up at 3 am, catch my flight to London LHR, had to wait at the airport 4 1/2 hours, attendet the interview and then flew back home to Germany. I arrived at home at 9 pm and was totally exhausted!
What the Assessment Day concerns: I don`t know, actually I don`t have such a good feeling. The group exercise didn`t go so well, I think I was probably too quiet. The 2 on 1 interview was ok. The man who was asking me the questions was really lovely, patient and supportive. He seemed to be pretty young, he had red hair, maybe someone of you guys had him too?
I heard that there are 2 Assessments today, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Does anybody know if there will be more Assessment Days or did they just have these 3 days (monday, wednesday, thursday)?

Good luck to you all!
