FAA to CAA ATPL Conversion?

Could anyone shed some light on the current state of the FAA to CAA ATPL license conversion?

I plan to complete integrated training in the US however have a job lined up in the UK for when I return.

Only problem is that 99% of schools in the US do not offer the CAA license and of the ones that do, are very expensive.

If anyone has recently gone through this (or even the other way around), I would greatly appreciate any insights, or alternatively if anyone wants to chip in with general knowledge.

Thanks,
-bakerin

Get a medical take the ATPL exams and do an LST, either in the multi crew type you already have or with a new type rating. But why would you? To convert an FAA ATP to a UK ATPL requires you to have at least 500 hours as first officer. Why would you give up a job in the US?

I'm pretty sure you can't get integrated training in the US. There are some UK ATOs that do their initial training in the US but that's not quite the same thing. You are probably thinking about tagged or sponsored schemes - Good luck they do exist but it's like winning the lottery.

Why would they? Most of their students are American.

I think you need to do a bit more research. Learn the difference between CPL, fATPL and ATPL. Pros and cons of Modular vs Integrated etc. It's all on here.

Many moons ago OBA (for those who remember... well I hope the nightmares have ceased) offered a CAA fATPL in Florida.. but that was one of the very few if the only one.
