NetJets Gateways
Does anyone have a list of them?
Particularly interested in MAN/EMA Where i am at the moment, ATH Where i'll be next year, FCO where i'd like to be. Do they mind changing gateways? Thanks |
You could change it every week if you wanted. They might get a bit bored with that after a while. They have to airline you on day one and day six, it really doesn't make much difference to them.

Gateways are listed here.

That's great, thanks. Never thought to check on the pilot recruitment page.
I believe that crew collect their own miles? Do crew from certain gateways get more/less of certain types of work, i.e. fleets, long haul etc? |
Gateways and fleet assigned to are totally independant issues.
On joining you can chose your gateway but not your fleet. With time in the company you will be able to bid for whatever aircraft you fancy. Airmiles. Yep, collected through airlines, hotels etc.. They are yours but some gateway seem to collect more than others. This is because some gateway are served by low costs (not many offering reward schemes) and some tend to be served by more traditional airlines (Airlines operating from LHR will tend to belong to a frequent flyer programme). |
that's what i thought.
but with different bases do people get more/less work? i.e. london gateway crew get called more because they can get somewhere quicker? etc |

great,
thanks i've spent all day reading the press sites, everything i can find anywhere. i hope i can get as good a response if i need it for an interviews, please cross your fingers guys and i promise to be the best you'll fly with!!! best wishes |
So if your NJE gateway is LHR, would you get a call to show at Northolt/stansted or Luton and be expected to drive there. (or would htey fly you to xyz then back to STN etc?)

Any driving from your LHR gateway to the airport (Farnboro, Luton, Stansted, Cambridge, Gatwick, etc) where the company aircraft is, or to a different airport to catch an airline, is provided by a contracted limo/minibus company - or taxi for one or 2 (short distance) journeys from LHR.
Obviously, if the company aircraft is at MAN or EDI, & your gateway is LHR, then an airline would be arranged. |
Any updates about the next gateway cities to be opened in 08/09.... :hmm: ? ?

Any updates about the next gateway cities to be opened in 08/09.... Maybe more when they assess some different airports later in the year - it is a complicated points-based system looking at numerous factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, total number of destinations, destinations that are in the top 20 list of NetJets airports (and/including major hubs) and total travel time to these destinations or other destinations in general. All these destinations must be served by early morning departures to allow for a timely arrival at the FBO and later arrivals for timely returns after a tour. |
Hi Guys 'n Gals
Could you tell me whether Netjets use the low-cost carriers such as Easyjet etc etc to position crews from their Gateway airport ? Also .... off topic ... but would NetJets take some punk with 1450 TT rather than the 1500 ?? :} Cheers, |

following from Alphonse's reply, I'm fairly certain that nowadays HR will not even bother to process aplications with less than the required (ie 1500) hours.
I would wait a month or six before applying if I were you ABO944.:ok: |
I know it's a bit far east, but is there any liklihood of ath becoming a gateway?
Also if i chose my gateway as man and had to get there via lhr/lgw etc on my way home, could i get a train to my home town rather than fly to man if it was cheaper for them? |

I have no idea if Athens will be a gateway.
I doubt it would be done automatically, however, if you spoke to the appropriate people when you got your brief, I don't think the company will object. Before EGGW was a Gateway, I used to request that I fly there rather than EGLL. So long as it's cheaper and complies with the rules then Travel/Scheduling usually agree. |
You will always start at your gateway - so if you had to fly from Northolt with LHR as your gateway, the company will provide a car to transport you there from LHR. Same thing if you live out to the west, say Reading, and had to start at Farnborough. You could negotiate getting yourself there and not need to use a company arranged car. I also know of some personnel who arrange hire cars through the company but am not too sure how that works.

Thank You
I got the "thanks but no thanks" email yesterday for NJE CC, to everyone that replied I really am grateful, I guess I am only 25 with 3 years exp, and in the GA world this isn't a lot so back to the drawing board.
Thanks for all the help advice and info, at least I can say I got a phonecall, so I must be doing something right, I hope one day I'll be flying with some of you. Best wishes to you and yours. :) |
