Avoid Lydd
 

Anybody know anything about Lydd Airport?

I went in there last year en-route from the US to South Africa.

When I was reconciling the accounts after the trip I found that Lydd had charged GBP300 for an after hours fee!

Acording to my reconing I actually arrived in time but was asked to circle for 5 mins due to a vehicle being on the runway, this delay putting me after hours by a matter of a few minutes.

I have subsequently tried repeatedly to communicate with these people by Email, mail and facsimile....all to no avail, no-one has ever replied.

The total bill for my visit to Lydd was a wopping GBP1178.70, not bad for a C500 !!!

I will avoid Lydd in future.

Unfortunate situation for you V1. However, such fees and such action keeps their creditors happy for a little longer!! :}

High ldg fees ... apparently its because of the high vis PAPI's ... but it was CAVOK ?

Nothing around airport ... sorry but its not the most attractive airport, and to charge as they do ???

The staggering thing is that they wont reply to any form of communication. So they are obviously aware that their conduct is suspect!
