I too saw the advertisment in flight nternational. I looked at the web site but it gives no information to which aircraft they operate other than the lj45.
I am surprised to see the time required (low) to fly as a co-pilot in the 45. Does anyone know how they operate a N reg aircraft for charter assuming it even gets chartered?
Too me it sounds like a great opportunity, other people's knowledge and thoughts would be greatfully recieved.
thanks ww2

Hope this is useful...

Fleet = 2 x LJ45, both N-reg, both privately owned & not available for charter. Both aircraft live with Signature @ Luton

Flying is typically Luton - Newcastle - Northolt - Luton (or reverse) or Luton - Lydd - Nice - Luton (or reverse).

Ok, So, I'm assuming that you can't roll up at Hanmlin Jets offices and ask them to take you from A-B. Is that right? From what I understand is that they're privately owned (as stated above) and ONLY operated for the sole and primary use of the person (or corporaton) that owns them. Correct???

British Guy,

Correct. They can only be used for non-commercial operations, and "Joe Bloggs Ltd" who own the aircraft have total control of who flies on them. As you say, you could not roll up at Hamlin Jet's office and announce that you wanted to charter one of their aircraft from A to B.

Ok, so running the risk of sounding totally stupid......how the hell do they make their money then?? They just manage the 2 Lears they own??? And I suppose the Lears are wither owned by them or by weathly private individuals right? So where do they make their money?

Sherry Bobbins 5th May 2003 22:58

Don't know the details of how they make their money, but at a guess, I would say that it was a combination of a "managment fee" charged to the aircraft owners, and/or adding a percentage to all bills received (fuel, landing, handling, nav. charges etc.) before passing them onto the owners.
