Chauffair/Calljets

Gone quite down at Farnborough, any one know whats happening?

incipientspin 6th Oct 2002 14:45

Very quiet indeed, last i was told was that the bank are still faffing around and that engineering are still waiting for their
jar 145 approval to bring the aircraft back up to scratch other than that not a lot shame the guys at chauffairs offer was not accepted straight away it could've saved a lot of money, hassle and heartache........

LGW Vulture 6th Oct 2002 17:56

Will someone please answer me this?

Why is the bank ploughing even more money into an operation that is:

1. Without a client base following the companies previous debacle;
2. Due to be run by an individual without knowledge of the European business aviation marketplace;
3. Already an embarassment to the bank itself!

I've no doubt that the majority of staff at Chauffair were/ are extremely well experienced and professional but, there comes a time when the duck is really dead. Surely GAMA have picked up all the remaining customer base?

Not meaning to p**s on anyone's chips but perhaps the guys have something up their sleeve....cos they're gonna need it!!

Gents

I believe the Honeywell equiped Hawker 800 is going through RVSM modifications so operational use shouldn't be too far off after that. Once that aircraft is operational the Hawker 700 will be RVSM'd and other avionic mods

There was a statement on the AIM last week that said Aviation Partners Worldwide had put in an offer to buy Chauffair's fleet, and it had been accepted.
http://aimquoted.uk-wire.com/cgi-bin...10338048Y.html
Curious as I know little about Chauffair, but Aviation Partners is run by my old friend Wazza, the man behind National Jet. A man who likes to expand rapidly and expects immediate results.
So is Chauffair a company with potential, looking for new direction. If there is potential, Wazza will provide the drive and determination.
Or did it go under for a good reason?

Guess that answers that then....

Daifly

...Nice to see you back.

Does this mean that the Calljet venture is well and truly finished?

If it is, well BoS will have succeeded in doing just about everything wrong!

Bankers....should be spelt with a W I'm afraid!

Daifly 1st Nov 2002 13:16

I'm sure you mean that Vulture...!

Yep, APW were the owners of Calljet.

Sad, but ultimately, I don't think any of us will be that surprised.

Yep, only one measily letter out! See, $8m is not more than $13m - perhaps they need to know that!!

LGW Vulture 1st Nov 2002 13:24

....I mean that sincerely, Daifly. Your comments are usually of some quality......unlike my own at times!!!!

What states of dis-repair are their aircraft in at present? They (BoS) will now have a real dilemma on their hands - for the SECOND time!!

Trying to rid themselves of assets that have market values way below that shown in their books. Will they sell, or do they have another hair brained scheme in their back pocket?

I am cynical, but I have reason to be!!

LGW

G-HCFR Hawker 800 has just had a lovely new paint job done at Jet Aviation and is having RVSM flight trials next week. EGPWS and TCAS change 7 mods all complete so it should be flying to its heart content pretty soon.... Errr that is if there is a customer base left and money in the pot to pay for it all!!

In view of the above anyone need a slightly cheesed off HS125/Citation driver................back to Mc Donalds then.

Mighty Thor 5th Nov 2002 09:10

For all the mortals who are waiting to feast on the remains, beware, legend has it that the Phoenix is growing.

Daifly 5th Nov 2002 12:46

Although slightly scared by the Mighty Thor, it seems he is indeed correct...

Rumour hath it, and therefore to quote Angus Deayton "alledgedly", the Calljet companies:

calljet.co.uk ltd.
calljet engineering Ltd, and
calljet leasing ltd

were removed from the APW Group before the writ was served whic brought APW down (cf. Flight International, 5-11 Nov, Page 25). They were pretty lucky then, seeing as in July it was announced to the markets that APW had made a reverse takeover of Chauffair (i.e. not calljet ltd themselves). Pretty amazing really to have had the foresight to suddenly hive them off....

But think about it from the Bank's pov. They have a deal signed and on the horizon it looks like the company you're going to sign with is about to pull the plug. Would you go back to the drawing board or would you simply renegotiate (i.e. drop your rates) with the incumbent? It's a possibility. Plus any decent capital and interest repayment holidays and it might just give you enough time to get off the ground (no pun) and start operating.

Sorry that's a bit disjointed, but I've been writing it over a period of hours!

We remain, as ever, with baited breath!

KERDUNKER 5th Nov 2002 17:24

Thor....... I believe your classical education gives you away, good to see you joining the fray, just hope that this cycle is not as long as the original set.

Mighty Thor 6th Nov 2002 09:11

KD, I trust you are well. Depressing as it may appear to you at this moment in time you are probably better off in your fox hole!
Throughout the past months I have quietly observed from my detatched astral platform the attempted resurection of a once proud and effective culture degenerate into a debacle.

Lets all hope that the perceptions of Daifly's are accurate, if only to serve as some comfort for the hardy souls that remained to defend the cause.

That said, reflect on this, a mythical beast may emerge from the flames. Odin willing it is of the type legends are made of and not an example of the flightless variety that always makes a universal appearnce during the twilight months of the year.

Chauffair/Calljets

Tell the phoenix to get a wriggle on or I'll have to get a new broom!!!

Daifly 6th Nov 2002 15:53

I believe everyone's been paid and that there are no outstanding bills, however understand everyone's now saying that the start date of 20th November might slip?

LGW Vulture 7th Nov 2002 11:11

There seems to be plenty going on to keep the rumours flying.....see the NJI thread on Airlines, Routes, Airports etc....

---------------------------------------------------------------

..........I'm outta here................

SilentHandover 7th Nov 2002 17:01

Are they still going to be operating from Farnborough, if so they should get a move on and be operational in time for the first day of operations in the new tower on the 18th.
:D :D :D :D

Good luck one and all.

Mighty Thor 8th Nov 2002 07:34

Intriguing to see if a new born emerges from the ashes, will it be protected by warriors with double headed axe or bent sticks!!
