MyIDTravel for biz jet operators?
 

Dear all,

I noticed that MyIDTravel has log-ins for several business jet operators, such as Air Hamburg, Aero West, Sylt Air, etc. I was wondering what's behind that - I always thought that interlining required reciprocity, and that since business jet operators can't offer any seats, their staff aren't eligible for ID tickets. Does anyone have any insights on what is being offered to the above mentioned airlines? Does it do anything for their staff?

They do have agreements, e.g. with Lufthansa. Air Hamburg staff can travel ID on Lufthansa, Lufthansa staff can travel on Air Hamburg ferry flights.

Seats on empty flights are offered in return and airline staff love this chance to fly on a business jets. A win/win for both sides.

What are you talking about? There is no interline agreement between private jets and airlines. Nor should there be. They are at opposite ends of a business model.

Well if you know the registration of the airplane you want to non-rev in, you can add an alert on apps such as FR24 or CTOT, and whenever you see an FPL in the system you can then try and get yourself on that flight.

I'm interested in this because I work for a bizjet operator and would love to get MyIDTravel benefits.

Often it is much more simple than this. Take Air Hamburg as an example.
Through myID system they provide you with login credentials to their online list of ferry flights which is regularly updated and from there you simply book yourself on that flight.

However I personally see non-reving on bizjet ferry flights more as a once in a while oustanding experience than as somehow a reliable way of traveling.
You never know if the ferry flight will still be a ferry flight tomorrow or not.
