PC-24 lands on UK grass runway

Nice vid of the arrival into Goodwood for the Festival of Speed...

Well the BAe 125, which it so closely resembles, did it all the time. And not just grass, other unprepared surfaces, too. I was at the Festival of Speed yesterday, but it was not in the static park.

It was on display at the aerodrome. Alongside a PC-12. There was another PC-12 up the hill at the FOS.

BTW, what is the demonstrated crosswind component on grass. Count it always as wet?

Qantas were doing the same with the 125 30 years ago, when they used it as a crew trainer.

Low blow here but couldn’t resist..... Was if for golf course training?

PC great looking aircraft.

As I’ve said that large door is fantastic.

That video clearly shows that the aircraft settles very low on it's landing gear, with the main wheels immediately ahead of the inboard sections of the flaps. I suspect that the flaps would quickly become well 'worn' with the regular clattering of gravel and sand that would accompany such operations.

Time will tell they are being used daily by RFDS on dirt airstrips

Initial testing was at Woodbridge in June 2018
