Hawker 800 pilot scam ??
Please pass this on to anybody you think may need to know.
I am currently offering a Hawker 800B for sale on an exclusive mandate. Several aircraft brokers in Europe and USA have been contacted by an 'Italian' sounding person going by the name Gianni Brin or versions thereof. This person purports to be representing a Norwegian company owning the aircraft that actually I am representing. He claims the aircraft is in Marseilles and needing to hire a crew, at good rates. Seems that once contracts are done, and all looks real, there is the inevitable call for funds to get Norwegian validations once the crew are on route....this is what one of the aircraft brokers told me. If anybody has heard of this person, or of this specific scam...if it is a scam, please let me know. PM I'd like to get to the bottom of this and if it is fraud, get this person dealt with in the appropriate way.....he is using French and Spanish telephone numbers and a Gmail account. In any case....beware......not all well paid jobs are real I suspect. |
Hi,
I have been called by this stamering guy speaking too. Should you are called by that number : +34690392947 stay away. |
Well the first clue it’s a scam is that Norway is an EASA state, so no validation needed for other EASA licences and virtually impossible to get quickly for others.

The slimy turd has been in touch with me too from this number:
+33 76 4 013 713. Same scam. |

I can confirm this
That guy contacted two of my colleagues, same story.
One was curious enough to check that out - turns out this guy is running around in rags with a prepaid phone... The story - especially by involving brokers - is not bad, but definately not perfect. As soon as you are there you obviously quickly realize this can´t be true... If you like I can ask for more details, just know parts of the story. |
So he is now onto Falcon 7x Pilots. He almost had me sucked in although i still can’t figure out what the scam is.... other then wanting my account info to wire me money he never asked for anything....anyone have a clue?

With your name, licence, account number ?? Have a guess :-)

I had a 800 listed for sale and received a shady LOI from a German pilot representing Mexican buyers working through a UK holding company. We had accepted an LOI and were working through APA when all of a sudden says the Mexicans cut him out of the deal and that he needed to be paid a commission for the transaction to proceed. Regardless, the lower end of the market always yields some characters.

Yes this week I was called by Gianni Brin to ferry a C560XL from Bari Italy to Norway he told me to buy my own ticket and to go to Madrid and that is where he will meet me to get a validation for me to fly as a Co Pilot at 18200 Euros If you know this man I will find the bastard I will now hunt for him email me any details you have [email protected] he has caused alot of suffering to many Pilots if a job looks to good to be true it is a scam NEVER EVER BUY your own ticket lucky for me I never did it these scum bags have taken money from Pilots who have worked hard and If I find him which I will he will be stammering alot more make sure all Pilots get this mans name and report it to the FBI asap I have a UK Licence and also FAA ATP's so he was talking to the wrong man If anyone tells you you need a validation for Africa like Kenya they dont validate any licences I have worked there and same with Europe if someone buys you a ticket and put the money in your bank then do the trip as sometime there are many genuine people there so be CAREFUL
I could have been out of pocket for $2400 for a ticket as this week is high and when I got there NOTHING |
It puzzles me, why on earth would you purchase an airline ticket while someone wants a service from you? This is unprofessional (asking you to buy a ticket yourself).
|
Yes well he thought I would but I never did these people prey on good Pilots and sometime the goodness of their hearts they do it and get screwed Aviation is a small world and when and if I ever meet this man well you know the rest

He is currently calling me
He told me I need to fly out on Tuesday or wed. For a 4 leg trip, 6 days at 2700 a day, with 1000 for travel days. I told him that I would need the ticket paid up front, he said of course. I told him 50% in cash up front and 50 upon completion. He said no problem up front in Euro. I tood him send send the ticket, bizness class. He said no problem. sounds like a scam, but, I wonder, what can he do with my license and docs? Credit? Cash? Fake? I haven’t sent anything.. just wondering what the scam is. |
latest number he is using is +34 652 21 73 66

As Nutloose says. Plus another one:
-They ask you for the details, so it feels leggit. -They send you all flight "details", so it feels leggit. -Then they ask you to pay a fee for visum as the aircraft is in X and you will get it reimbursed. -Oh and please pay for the ticket.. As you think you will receive $$$$$ for a short assignment you are willing to pay the relative low amount of $$... You arrive: no aircraft, no nothing and you need to pay your own way back. :( |
I think this is more a Walter Mitty character.........I'm not sure he has the brains to make it a real life scam.
If you participate in his fantasy you'll still end up out of pocket though. |
