Pilot Recruitment Pages

Morning,

I'm interested in an opinion from Aircrew. I need to post some recruitment adverts for Capt and FO positions and wondered if you minded sharing your experiences, where do you register, regularly view job listings.

And before the doomsayers start assuming that our whole team has walked out, this is for new aircraft joining the fleet. I also do not check private messages on pprune or have any input on the recruitment outcomes. I just post the ads!

Latest pilot jobs.com.

And be so honest to list the salary cause half the time when I apply and they call me afterwards and tell me their salary I hang up the phone laughing.

And btw a competitive salary does not mean the same in all countries. While comparative in Austria is maybe 5-6000 for a captain the same job will go for 8000+ in England or Scandinavia.

So tell your offer. It saves both you and me a lot of time.

Morning Phil,

That's good to see expansion, Several sites used by Aircrew I know

Latestpilotjobs.com, Most popular of All, Lots of EU job postings.
Aviationjobs.me, not loads of EU posts but seems popular.
Pilotcareercentre.com, Mix of EU, USA, ME etc, another popular site.

Hope this helps, will keep an eye out for your news.

Son of a Beech,

Thanks for the advice, obviously we'll be ignoring the salary comments, although, maybe we should be finding an Austrian jobs page :E

Albus_Dumbledore 3rd Jul 2017 14:41

Nothing quite like pay-to-fly is there Phil?! :}

On a serious note, I get a daily email from flight global jobs that I would rely on. Might be a good location as all of the major companies seem to use it.

Hi Phil.

I thought you where looking for what pilots think about recruitment ads/websites. Don't get frustrated if you don't like the answer.

Fact is pilots like to know what kind of salary they are applying for. And if you give a general remark like "competitive salary" don't be surpiced that pilots will turn you down if you offer what you think is competitive but is in fact 50% of what a pilot that applies is making.

As far as Flight Global it frustrates me that they keep sending me jobs that they "handpicked" while I am interested in corporate jobs as a captain and the offer me Airbus 340 f/o in China. Flight global should offer an option for Corporate flight jobs and stop sending me airline jobs

The daily emails I get from Aviation Jobs | Aviation Job Search are repetitive but at least match the search criteria.

But mostly I like LinkedIn

Another vote for Latestpilotjobs. Also I'm with Son of a Beech - as a minimum the ball park figure should be included in the ad. If that's what you offer then so be it, but to me it looks more professional.

Some (many?) potential applicants - including me - will be put off Latestpilotsjobs because some ads, for instance an Excel Capt. position that's currently on there, are hidden behind a pay wall. I'm no fan of pay to fly, less so of pay to apply to fly and completely against pay to find out if the job is one I've already looked at elsewhere or actually fits my search criteria.

Klimax 4th Jul 2017 13:45

Phil,

Latestpilotjobs.com would be my bet too.

Laugh as much as you want at SOAB - but he's actually trying to save you, your time. You might as well manage the expectation of the applicants on the pay or else get laughed at - unless you're reasonable in what you're offering.

Good luck in recruiting and congrats on signing on another aeroplane.

The reason the adds are behind a paywall is because the company looking for the pilot that is listing them is not paying for the add they place the add for free. If the company listing the add pays for listing them then you can see them for free. Somebody has to pay for the work that latestpilotjobs does. They don't run a website for the fun either. So blame that one on the potential employer. Not on latestpilotjobs

Sepp 4th Jul 2017 14:05

I'm not blaming anyone, merely disliking the model. Other sites manage to be free to search.

edit/ I'm acutely aware that someone always pays, somewhere. The fact that the company that placed the ad wants to not pay for it and is happy to shift the burden onto the applicant tells me a great deal about how they'll likely treat people who work for them.

Couldnt agree more with the last part

Hi Phil.

I fully agree with Son of a Beech. Be honost and say what you offer. Why the secrecy?

As far as website. Latestpilotjobs.com, no doubt!!

Globally Challenged 4th Jul 2017 16:57

+1 for salary info, as the exclusion of it makes me think that there is not a fair pay scale where everyone is on a different amount for the same job or some other reason why an employer is looking to hide info from its current employees (Who may have been 'trapped' into poor pay & conditions)

If a company is not upfront &/or listed on PPJN then I will think very carefully about applying.

bizjetjobs.com

rumbpilot 7th Jul 2017 21:07

allflyingjobs.com has many exec aviation jobs and it's free.

Phil is English. He doesnt talk about pay, he carries an umbrella, and if there is a sign he doesnt walk on the grass. The salary will be competitive for Bristol - how does that sound to all the Austrians out there..

Phil knows if you dont pay enough you will end up with a **** and if you pay too much you will definitely end up with a ****. So go to the interview and haggle - its all part of the fun..

no austrians..

Once again, Phil asked what we pilots wanted in an add. I'm not Austrian. The Austrian salary was just used as example for crappy pay.

I know the standard is not to disclose the salary in the add but like with other jobs it should be

GlenQuagmire 12th Jul 2017 00:34

I am pretty sure he asked where we looked not what do we want to see..

attention to detail dear boy, tis the first thing on the corporate jet pilot recruiters list
