Legacy 600
Hello All,
I was wondering if someone could tell me what type you need for the Legacy 600. Now I know I thought this would be straight forward just get that type, but some training establishments are under the impression you can do the Embraer 135/145 as they are the same aircraft and then do a conversion course to the L600. Does someone on here know? I called the CAA and they said you must do a Legacy 600 type but then why are some training facilities adamant that you can do the Embraer 135/145? Any light on the matter would be appreciated. :) |
You need an EMB 135/145 rating. I did the rating with flights safety Paris in the 145 sim. They provide some of the specific documentation for the legacy differences but no formal differences course is required.

Thank you for your information.
Ok interesting. When I spoke to the CAA yesterday they told me I had to do the Legacy 600 type rating and that doing the EMB 135/145 and then a brigadier course to the L600 was not acceptable. Wondering if it depends who you talk to. So what rating is then on your licence? |

It is not even mentioned here, so no difference course, just a normal 135/145 type. |
I checked that before I called the CAA to verify, but they said I needed to do the L600 type. But apparently not it seems. Thank you for your help @dirk85 and @rumour mill.

I have a easa license with emb135/145 rating displayed. The legacy is a is an E135BJ and not a separate type. I am sure the information you got from the CAA is incorrect.
|
It sounds like the CAA gave me incorrect information. Although I have contacted FSI and they do refer to it as the Legacy 600/650 and the Legacy 135BJ Series. @rumour mill, were there any minimum requirements regarding flight hours at FSI?
Have you heard of a training facility called Jetstream Aviation Academy? And would you recommend it? |
If it's a different type rating, I'm in the ****! I've been flying it for 5 years on an emb 145 rating )
|
@Deep and fast Did you do it at FSI also? :)
|
Yep. Can confirm Emb 145 series TR covers 135/145 135BJ with Legacy 600 and 650 variants. I've flown them all on the EMB 145series TR. - EASA (UK) licence.
