Blackbushe Accident?

I live not far from Blackbushe and have heard reports of an accident involving a landing business jet just after 3pm today. The airport is closed as is the main A30 road nearby. I hope the occupants are OK.

Apparently a visiting Phenom landed long and quite fast, hit the bank at the end and came to a rest in the auction site car park, then catching fire.

Ambulance Service Tweets suggest 4 soles on board but no word on them yet.

Not exactly owned by Saudi royal family, rather by a notorious one....

Reports on a Swiss aviation forum indicate it may have been a Phenom 300 operated by a Swiss-registered company. :(

Not unless HZ has replaced HB. Other sources suggest its fro the Kingdom.

It was HZ-IBN, a frequent visitor to Blackbushe.

Not specific to this incident although maybe ?
What possesses an experienced pilot who has landed at a short runway many times to allow the aircraft to float and touchdown way down from the numbers
We all get things wrong but a go around is obvious not a wing and a prayer attempt at landing long which may have resulted in a tragic loss of life

What I don't understand at all, is that a complex aircraft like a Phenom 300 is single pilot certified

winkwink 8th Aug 2015 00:50

Far easier to fly than a King Air which is.......single pilot certified.

rotorspeed 8th Aug 2015 08:24

Apart from which, doesn't seem from the AAIB initial report that the cause had much to do with over-stretching a competent single pilot.

HHH ? Reading the report there does not seem to be any other conclusion other than partial or full incapacitation that the experienced Captain did not loose the plot in attempting to land and stop with 400 meters of remaining runway which would exactly indicate single pilot overload and brain freeze to have attempted such a crazy thing

from the initial AAIB report what conclusion do you come to mechanical or fuel ? bad weather? suicide?
