Salary working more than one type.

I'm looking for advice on what salary or package enhancements might normally offered to crews who voluntarily work 2 types where the negatives are:

- More likely to be called out/more days on the road
- Bond increased to the tune of the additional rating (Diminishing bond for first training event on each type provided by company.)

Most places I know pay around $1,000USD mo increase.

Totally not worth it unless you are getting typed in a better class of sled!

More time in training, more ability for scheduling trolls to stick it to you, two types to remember...

Just say no unless you're on a Sovereign and the CP is talking G550!

On the other hand, consider it as a back-up if you like your current job.
Happened to a friend of mine, got a 2nd TR offered, hesitated but went for it. Half a year later the jet he had his first TR on was sold, not replaced. The crews who didn't have another TR for the company's fleet were laid off.

Just food for thought.

Jeff,

Unless they are going to cover the cost of the second type, then I'm not sure I'd bother. Every company I have worked for have never re-bonded me for a different type. If they choose to alter the ball game, and want the employee to follow, then thats their problem. Ok to the first type.

INNflight does have a valid counter point.

Hard one to play.

If you are on a good package I don't see a need for more money to do the same job. I wouldn't pay for it or be bonded for any more.

If you're below market rate for the new type then maybe you need to be brought in line with that.
