Bizjets based at Gloucester/Staverton?

Any info in general terms would be appreciated.

I sometimes idly look up from my back garden and speculate about the cushy job passing low over my head on the approach in a swanky looking bizjet.

If hauling the great british public ever becomes just too unbearable... ;)

Cheers guys,

Wot you been smokin' man??

Executive aviation Gloucester have a Citation 2. Eurojet also have a maintenance facility here I believe. Of course during race week there will bizzies from everywhere.

'.....cushy job....' - I don't think so...have you spoken to anyone involved in executive jet charter operations? - think you might find it a bit busier than you imagine!....

WWW,

I post infrequently on here, (better to be a bar listener than a bar talker and all that....)
A bit off topic but heres some info on the world of corporate flying if you, or anyone else, feels that it is what you would like to do....

I fly RHS on a private bizjet.

I earn an average of just £350 a week, some weeks a lot more, but other weeks nothing at all. Luckily I do not have a mortgage, so I can just about afford to keep my L registration VW Golf on the road, and still have a night out every week!
I fly 2-3 days per week, but sometimes not for two weeks, and log a grand total of approx 250 hrs per year.
I have to pay for my own medicals, checks, type courses etc.
I do not have a company pension or insurance benefits of any kind.
P1 and myself do all the preflight planning ourselves, plus arranging handling agents, transport and accomodation when required. We also organize and liase with the aircraft maintenance engineers. I also clean out the aircraft, including the loo, on return to base.
Having said all that I love the job!!! The aircraft is clean, both technically and hygienically! high performance, and I fly interesting routes, some into airfields where the airlines never go.
I think many corporate jobs are similar. Like most lines of work, its perfect for some people but totally unsuitable for others. This was my path of choice in professional flying and am happy to live with the consequences (unlike many "contributors" to pprune!) i just hope that I can financially afford to go on in the future.

Regards, PJ.

Sorry about the confusion - posted some posts on this thread that belonged on others.

I like to assume that all Bizjets are piloted by people on six figure salaries flying 300hrs a year hanging around on standby in 5 star hotels.

It helps me bitch about how hard I work. :D ;)
