Rizon Jet in trouble again?

Last year saw the demise of the Qatar arm of Rizon Jet, due to an ongoing dispute over handling rights between them and Qatar Executive / Doha Airport. Now it seems that the big shiny FBO / MRO at Biggin Hill is struggling to keep its customers and building tenants and is do way less business than it should. Word at the airport is that Rizon's parent company GSSG Holdings is looking to sell off the operation ( possibly to Signature, who have just pitched up at EGKB ).
Does anybody impartial have any further news on this rumor? It has been said that the business is trying to survive by holding events in the hangar to make up for the lack of aviation activity.

I live just down the road from Biggin Hill and was talking to one of the managers at EBACE in May, and she said that they were indeed hiring out the hangar for functions, filming and anything that would make use of the space.

It would be a shame, as it is an impressive facility… But I did wonder if there was sufficient demand at Biggin Hill for a facility of that size and specification… On the FBO side… I don't know anything about the MRO.

Rizon Jet - What trouble?

Looking at the new website Home | Rizon Jet
I don’t think they’d invest in the tens of thousands this probably cost if they were A - struggling or B - selling out to Signature, plus I heard they are recruiting.
Visiting the Elite London event recently - which took place in part of their hangar and showcased plenty of spanking new aircraft - I enquired if I could take a look around the FBO and it was very busy with movements, the ops team mentioned that (at 10.30am on Saturday morning) they’d had 26 flights through so far that day and they said 16 engineers were onsite, so not sure what your motive is in putting out dreary mis-information about the business.

Really?

26 flights by 10.30am on a Saturday?
Now that sounds like misinformation. :=

Hmmm - 26 movements by one (of the 3)handling agent in 90 minutes.

Runway321 - You would do well to apply a logic check to stuff you hear around airports, or if you are making it up yourself, at least make is semi-believable.

Whilst not wishing to discredit Rizon, I don't think it's fair to count aircraft being pushed out of the hangar as "movements"...

I am struggling to work out how Biggin can sustain the same number of handling agents as Luton without an agent having either a substantial cash input or a considerable amount of third party income such as maintenance.

I think there are spotters web sites which show movements and which ramp they went to, if runway321 could confirm it was during the event, I'm sure it can be validated......

steveb15 15th Aug 2014 13:22

Don't waste your time......

It can't be validated because it didn't happen.
Not at Rizon. Not at all Biggin FBOs combined.
Not even close.

Correct, thread closure I think!?

given the spirited defence offered by a one time poster and a suspicious number of statistics and a link to their website, I'd say that looked like a thinly veiled refutation from a shareholder !
