FAA atp

Hi Guys,

Hopefully someone can help...

A colleague and I, both EU state ATPL holders, are working towards FAA atp's. Written is complete and we need to do the practical test now. We understand the check can be done on a commercial type at the end of a type rating course with faa approved sim and examiner. What isn't clear is whether or not the practical can be completed in one visit to the sim on a type we already have on our easa licenses? keeping in mind we do not hold any FAA certificate.

would be grateful for any help :)

A bit offtopic but still. Can a practical test be completed in an aircraft not a sim for FAA ATP?

I am aware that it is better to do it in a sim safety/allelse-wise.

Verification letter should only take max two weeks from experience unless it takes the FAA a while to process on receipt?

Upgrade recurrent sounds like something a FAA Cpl holder can do and not someone applying for their first FAA cert as we are.

Doing the practical is of course an option as many people do in a light piston twin.:)

The DPE must be authorized to do this. Go to the FAA's website and see which examiner matches the airplane you intend to this on.

Not easy, but not impossible either.
