VistaJet in financial bad weather?

I heard several stories about VistaJet having financial troubles!
Anyone with inside info?

CEO is a rich guy, no doubt.

But having seen there latest and greatest announcement about new aircraft, I doubt he is that rich.

Furthermore there business model still needs to be explained to one, how that makes any financial sense.

I struggle to to see them still being around in a few years time.

515 views, and just one reply :ooh:

interesting :bored:

No info on that. Do know they have to pay cash at some stations but so do most others.

Agree with Delta his assessment:

I think it's a case of running before you can walk for VJT.

cldrvr 26th Nov 2013 13:15

Everybody said that about NJ when they first started too.

VJT is getting one heck of a finance deal on their kit, on par with what others pay for old pieces of cr@p.

Since they have opened there has been a steady flow of posters here trying to rubbish them.

Caveat: don't work for VJT, we do however use them occasionally.

Delta

I'd imagine the lack of replies is due to the blatant **** stirring attempt by a few people with very little track record on here.

Who knows how they're doing. Seem to be going from strength to strength from what I can see. Wherever in the world I am there's always a VJ airplane close by. Lots of orders, they probably make enough on selling on their aircraft at a profit compared to their vastly favourable rates at Bombardier.

Best of luck to them I say

Maybe, time will tell.
Dont know to much about them. But heard they get a new Global every month.
Interesting

How to make a small fortune in Aviation

1) Start with a LARGE fortune.....

I gave up owning and operating my own aircraft when rule 1) became obvious.

My ego was well inflated but my bank account deflated.

To a company that treat their pilots on par with Ryanair??? :yuk:

either you share examples or this is just discrediting a company.
this rumor about Vista is there since day one and the company is still there 10yrs later 10 times bigger..

I have never worked for either so can't comment first hand. If you've worked there I'd be grateful for your insight.

I do however know a few people at VJ all of whom seem very happy. They aren't paid well, but that seems to be the only complaint. And all are of the opinion that on balance the pattern, new machines and good people to be on tour with make up for the salary.

I don't see any parallel with Ryanair. They don't recruit zero hour wonders, they pay for Type Ratings ( on very desirable types ), they pay uniform etc etc. Happy to be put right though.

Low pay, messing around with their schedules and off days and no crew food are the thing I have been told as being the biggest gripe a number of times... I am not aware whether they pay for their TR or not, good to hear if they are :ok:

Learjet-60-XR 26th Jan 2014 10:20

Who told you about that they mess around with peoples schedules?? they never did with mine!

The pay, though it could be better, is not low. There are companies in Europe that pay over 1000€ less!

FlyTCI 26th Jan 2014 12:52

Please!! €85k for Global captain is not low? It's nothing short of pathetic, especially after European taxes and high cost of living. Euro pilots have eroded their own job market by selling themselves way too cheap and by agreeing to self sponsoring, all in an effort so they can get the fancy title of a pilot.

What's the per diem? $30 or $50? Even if it's in euro it is still way too low in most of the world.

I am from Europe myself but the only European operator I have worked for operated outside of Europe and were providing good pay. Other than that I doubt I'll ever work in Europe again.

Joe le Taxi 26th Jan 2014 17:37

Yeah, but they do seem to have a habit of taking on some guys who lack the normal level of experience or competence required to swing a job on a Global.

Hence the low pay.

Sean Dillon 26th Jan 2014 18:00

£70,500 + per diems!

Strewth! P*ss take! High turnover of crew by any chance?!?

deefer dog 26th Jan 2014 19:35

There will always be people willing to take the salary. Get over it. If someone wants the job let them take it....and good luck to them if they are happy. It's their job, their nice fancy jet to fly and only their business.

Personally I have found it easy to fill vacancies in Europe when offering positions in large cabin jets, and to be honest few of them squeal about the salary if its pitched low. Most want a secure job flying a nice aircraft with a reasonable rosta. Which of you wouldn't....especially if you are out of work?
