If you want to work with a quality outfit then I suggest you focus on Amira.

itpilot 19th Aug 2013 12:20

thanks Grenville, it's a pity that Amira does not have my type. and you know nowadays the rating you have is all that matter!

wondering 19th Aug 2013 12:53

Didnīt Amira force their pilots to join a crew leasing company to continue flying for them? And isnīt Amira itself up for sale? Hm, wouldnīt really call that a quality company.

No harm in giving them a call and talking to them, better still go round and visit them. There are still companies about who will arrange a type endorsement for staff they wish to hire.

Europ Star

Good day everyone,

Didn't want to start a new thread seeing as this old'ish one is already out there.

I am looking for information on Europ Star in particular pay, roster and general atmosphere (XL fleet). I see they are recruiting for a Milan base. I am currently freelancing but looking to go full time.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
mo

Nice company to fly for. relaxed interview with some basic questions about Jepp, Tech, and Pans-OPS,and the Sim is about one hour, part AP part raw data with some non precision APP, single engine GA, very relaxed.

As far as salary goes, this is the downside as with most Austrian companies

the captain salary on the XL is about 39000 NET and 35 euros per diem a day. (Max tax free for Austrian government). I would guess about 22-25K nett for an FO. The salary is devided by 14, 12 months + holiday and Christmas bonus.

The schedule in 20-10, Milan based.

dirk85 8th Jul 2016 14:08

The scheduled has always been 15/15, they might be short of crews at the moment, but they usually run on 2 crews per plane.

Slightly optimistic on the figures quoted, but you are not far off.

Big turnover recently, might need other crews soon, both cpts and f/os.

Flight ops manager a very decent and honest guy.

50/50 owner flights and charter.

Hi all,

used to work for this company until 2014. Well, the positive things of the company are the roster and the possibility to fly a considerable amount of hours especially on the small ac. The roster used to be 16-14 which it's very appreciated by the pilots and the monthly average hours flown is not less than 20-25 (I personally reached 48 hours once).

The wage is the sore point: if nothing has changed in the last 2 years, a Cpt GROSS salary without per diems was around 38,500 euros and 27,500 for a FO. The salary was based mainly on the flight activity e.g. you got an additional sum of money (taxable) per each leg flown plus per diem (35€ per day only outside Austria, 26€ otherwise). To make the story short a Cpt used to earn something like 3,000 - 3,400 € net per month and a FO 2,200 - 2,600 net including per diems!

Low standard ops: The small fleet crews were often forced by the company to go over duty, to take "irregular" flights such as landing commercially on airports not suitable for landing purposes ecc.

In my opinion not properly a company for very professional pilots...

Take care!

Mmm and still a lot of brokers will go out and sell companies like these to their customers as "great company and they are looked after by the Austrian government so very safe...."

If the customers only knew where the lowest price was coming from... Low salaries, low standards low experience and crew that is pushed (and crew who will loose their licences if they are found out!)... :(

Then they would do exactly nothing, as they in turn make their money from low salaries, low standards etcetc. Sign of the times, I think.

And the one that DO mind, go to places like NetJets. part of their success IMHO.

The standard schedule is 15-15 but on this Milan bases OPS it's 20-10, GUG told me.

In that case they have changed or plan to change since I left. I was on that account for years.
Many people will not be very happy of this roster, I reckon, unless the salary is significantly increased.

Hence the slightly higher pay and the fact they are already looking for a long time for a crew. Owner actually wants Milan home based crew without commuting

But all other crews still have 15-15.
