Real world experience with CJ4
 
I am private owner of CJ2 and since I would loke to increase my payload/range capability, I would like to buy an CJ4.

I would like to ask some pilots, about real world experince with CJ4. Especially sqauks, problems and so on.

There is huge inventory of CJ4 for sale, and it scares me.

You will need to do differences training (Compulsory under EASA) or fly with an experienced 525C pilot for a bit, it's not really the same aircraft initially.
if your moving from a CJ2+ the transition will be easier.
Doesn't seem to get any where near to MMO at highish FL, lack of excess power when compared to the CJ3, however the speeds are higher, so I am not comparing like with like.
Fuel burn is nuts in the initial climb. Single point fuelling is handy.
Caravan toilet still a bit embarrassing, but better than a CJ litter tray.
Looks like the cabin temperature control might do something, although there are still random temperature changes in the descent.
The Collins integrated Avionics are great, with two FMSisses they allow either pilot to auto tune and wonder if its going to capture.
Beautiful aeroplane, close to a finished CJ, better perf than a Phenom 300, but less ramp presence and no window in the toilet. Overall the most pleasant and impressive CJ so far.

And what about temperature in the cockpit? CJ2 has a problem with that.

Cabin/Cockpit temperature has always been a 525 series issue, and more recently flying the CJ2+, it appears to help matters considerably by opening all the cabin vents fully open and ensuring that no jackets etc. are located on the rear hangers in front of the aft flood - at least we don't seem to freeze like we did before lol......oh, and if you carry soft, furry blankets etc., they seem to shed fibres that can build up in ducting etc. which may cause issues relating to temp. control (i think!).

Compare with the Phenom 300 before your final move. The true is that the 300 is killing the Cj4 and another good thing now is that Phenoms are now "Made in USA".

I heard about a lot of CJ4 returns due to noise excess and performance issues. They had to roll back their number few months ago. Something smells bad.

There are currently eight CJ4 aircraft for sale from a fleet total of some 125 aircraft. That's around 6% - nothing that should really scare anyone to be frank!

My feedback from a friend who is a CJ4 pilot that moved from CJ3 is that the boss should have never spent the money. Very little range/performance increase, buggy cabin entertainment system, and much more acquisition cost.
