Hawker 700 or Citation SII

Hello,

we are thinking of selling either one of this aircraft to a group of 5 people. we know they wanna fly farther, some of them own cheyennes and 414's, is the high maintenance prices of the hawker 700 really worth it ? or should they stick to a Citation SII and see how it fits ?

Can anyone tell me how much fuel does the SII burn ? Range ? Range Full Fuel ?

If your clientele needs the extra range of the Hawker 700 (i.e. 80% of the trips require it), then more efficient / cheaper to operate a/c may fulfil your requirements.
Otherwise, a CJ2 or CJ3 may be a good idea, or maybe an Encore.

I ferried a Citation S2 from Florida to South Africa and was very impressed with the aircraft.
The flight over the top took 32 hours all up at FL390 where we had fuel burns of 400ibs per hour per side!
When you consider that compared to the Citation 2 which carries 4800 ibs the S2 carries 5800 ibs making it an 1800 nm aircraft.
Climb is better than the 2 cruise faster and having the five wing it is the slowest shortest landing Citation built.
Get one with the Branson Grosse weight mod.
Down side? It is an old generation Citation so you should pick up one for peanuts but more maintenance like all older aircraft.
Weeping wing deice.
I loved it!!!

I fly an SII for a while and I hated it.

Didn`t heat in winter, didn`cool in Summer. The TKS very often had a light showing, despite us using it on every flight to keep the holes and lights going...

Pax didn`t like it too much either. Good troop transport, but....

And mx ain`t cheap on them either. 150 hrs intervals and a phase V every 3 (?) years with 3-4 weeks down.

Don`t know where you want to operate, but make sure the avionics (CVR, DFDR, RVSM, TCAS, EPGWS, 8,33 etcetc) are up to the task in the area of intended use. Otherwise you could end up spending - easily - the worth ot the airplane in avionics upgrades...

The S2 shared that trait with the 550 Citation 2s. Winter high level at night can often be blankets for the PAX :( so not unique to the S2.
