Netjets' $9.6 billion order
 

Does any one know what this means regarding recruitment and career prospects with Netjets Europe??

I'm confused and skeptical as there doesn't seem to be any good news at the moment!! :eek::confused::hmm:

its a sizable order.....NETJETS announced plan to acquire up to 425 more business jets worth $9.6b from BOMBARDIER and CESSNA: 75 Challenger 300s for delivery starting in 2014, plus 125 options; 25 Challenger 605s for delivery starting in 2015, plus 50 options; and 25 Citation Latitudes for delivery starting in 2016, plus 125 options.

The manufacturers are living in cloud cuckoo land if they think that the 150 and 125 Options will ever be turned into genuine deliveries.

To be fair - they have a total fleet in the region of 850 aircraft and prefer to have them relatively young, so my bet is that a fair number of those orders will be delivered (not so sure on the options - but a good time to be hedging your bets for the inevitable, if distant, upturn).

I suspect this announcement will not result in a substantial fleet expansion but more of a renewal.

Latitude will see off the Excel in the same way the CJ3/4 saw off the Bravo (everywhere else ther than NJE)

These are mainly replacements, hate to think what the 800s are costing to run

With over 60 Aircraft in storage mainly the H400XP fleet dying in cambridge, newquay and chester.
This Big order is as good as the order from Jet Republic. whilst im positive they will take some orders to replace some of the fleet its not going to be a huge recruitment drive.

The firm orders are to replace aircraft up for disposal over the next five years. The options are to replace aircraft going forward and to provide growth opportunities as the market requires. As always this is subject to change at a moments notice.

Emb 300 replaces Ultra, Bravo, Encore, Encore+, Hawker 400xp
Citation Latitude replaces XL, XLS, Hawker 800xp and some Sovereigns
Challenger 300 replaces remaining Sovereigns, X, some G200s (this looks to be a growth airplane for NJE)
Challenger 605 replaces remaining G200s, Falcon 2000, Falcon 2000EX
Global 5000 replaces GIVsp
Global 6000 replaces GV and Falcon 7X
Global 7000 replaces G450
Global 8000 replaces G550

Growth is based off of sales only. If the airplane does not have shares sold it will remain an option. This is a step in the right direction, but there are many steps left to make before we see growth.

I reckon the H4000 is now dead with the NJ CL300 order. Not good news for HBC.

Wonder if they've specified the Jet Republic espresso machines and inflight email? They must still be sitting in a warehouse somewhere in Kansas.

Guess the H4000 is dead since a long time. Too much delays and broken promises.
To quote my old boss: never ever again HBC. After having owned several KingAirs (B200s and B350s), a BJ400A and an 800XP and having ordered a Premier and a Horizon/4000...

He flies a CL300 now.
