Can someone tell me if the Global has a door separating the cockpit from the (front) galley?

G550 has a door between the fwd galley and the flight deck..:ok: sorry you asked about the Global :p

It depends on what the original purchaser asked for. The interior can be what ever you pay for. I've seen with, and mostly without.

Must have seen over 100 Global interiors and not one of them had a cockpit door. Why would you want one?... its not like the owner is going to come forward and hijack their own plane.

It's not always the owner that flies on an aircraft... anyone with enough $ can charter one.

The doors are so flimsy a strong gust with the bag door open will break the frame and the door will flail about.

i think - itīs a matter of certification, isnīt it?
i have not yet seen a biz-jet with a door between galley and flightdeck - all (or at least most) biz jets are certified for operation with crew 2/0 with 20pax-seats or less - it is nice to have a FA or inflight service personal, but not a must have. so if you have a flightdeck door - the pilots can not look to the cabin directly, evenmore, if the door gets jammed during an accident, they can not access the cabin/leave the flightdeck and assist the pax. do not mix the flightdeck-galley door with the galley-cabin door..., these must be opened during take of and landing - i guess due to above noted regulations. my2cents welle |
With most large cabin business jets, having a cockpit door is strictly up to the owner. On our Falcon 900EX we had a door between the galley and the cabin and a door between the cockpit and the galley.
For the aircraft to be certified with the cockpit doors, they had to placarded "To Remain Open for Takeoff and Landing." However, even if left closed, they can easily be kicked or pushed open in case of an accident. I also have flown Sabreliners and Falcon 50s with cockpit doors. |
I have 2 doors
one between the forward galley, and the cockpit, and another between to ghalley and the main Cabin, and actually a third door, to permit the front lav to be used, without cabin crew assistance.
all to be open for take off etc, etc. Glf 450 |
