CAE Dubai VS. FSI Farnborough - INITIAL TR G450/G550 (G-V)

CAE Dubai VS. FSI Farnborough - JAA INITIAL Type Rating G450/G550 (G-V).

Now, obviously nobody would have done an INITIAL TR at BOTH companies.

However I'm interested in hearing opinions about pro's and con's regarding these two options.

Many thanks

JAA or FAA?

If FAA, stay away from Farnborough.

If FAA, stay away from everywhere which is not in the US!

Why? Because there has been a change recently demanding the SFEs at the training centers to acquire some sort of additional training which puts them effectively out of business for those purposes.

Make sure that they can live up to their promises because I've seen that they can't.

CAE no VAT and they will fly you to DXB business travel on Emirates and provide you Hotac.

FSI 20% UK VAT no Flights and No Hotac.

This was what I heard was being offered in DXB, perhaps they need the business but that is a very good incentive.

Farnborough is dreadfully boring, around 45 minutes to downtown London. Nothing to do but watch the private jet fleet arrive and depart all day whilst on break.

"CAE" in Dubai is accurately "ECFT", and the E is for Emirates. I did G550 initial there last year, and recurrent in April this year. They do not offer any special deals on Emirates. Believe me, this perplexed me, and I took my question to everyone I could find... Have no thoughts about VAT.

For my money, go to Dubai.

if money nothing to do with it......or equally shopping or things to do while not doing type rating nothing to do with it....(are you doing a type rating or on a bloody holiday) I say FSI Farnborough. Instructors experienced and everything current. from what I know about CAE, instructors are new and not as "qualified" on type........isint that the most important issue?.......training!....not shops or pubs or topless bars when out of class.......IMHO

FSI Farnborough. Instructors experienced and everything current
They may be experienced in JAA requirements etc, but they aren't prepared for FAA requirements, and if you don't believe me, go ask them!

I am Biased but DXB CAE

CAE has some good JAA experienced instructors.

Some have less than 5 hours on (GLF) type.

Most have never seen a G450.

CAE is a G550 sim, with foxtrot, I believe.

450 differences is a PP only, no practical demonstrated differences.

It is a battle to get 450 manuals from CAE, in fact I would say impossible.

It is possible to get an inclusive package, ceretainly for initials, but as to value for money I can not say.

The major advantage of DXB over USA is to avoid TSA problems when not actually doing FAA, but JAA training. This has no relevence to FAB.

EDIT: from experience yesterdayin CAE DXB, many WAGS in tow, not so many to FAB...Your call......

I am not surprised about what I hear here. Not havin' biz jet experience with FSI (never had any experience with CAE - beside them providing simulators!) - I have airline experience with them from Toronto and lets face the fact the FSI flight manuals prove quite a bit in its own respect. I personally would chose FSI - and I hope it will turn out this way - however I am still open to the pro's and con's.

FSI

For Falcon Easy there are 3 places that are very bad for initial & recurrent training Faa Licence.
They are Paris, Dubai & Teterboro for your future reference avoid those 3 places.
Paris is always available bcoz most/every pilots always avoid going to Paris due to horrible training quality & conditions.
For your info : Paris has very bad reputation among pilots.
Next time have to discuss carefully before Company send the pilots..
✓) No training syllabus provided for each training, jump in the sim and they just give what ever they want. That makes preparations very difficult and not conducive ;
✓) Yelling and screaming and cursing to pilots under training is not the way to teach ;
✓) Some instructors are not professionals in imparting knowledge ;
✓) Sim session swaps without prior notice ;
✓) No crm and very bad communication from the instructors ;
✓) Very stressful flightdeck environment ;
✓) Trend to fail trainees so that they make more money from extra training sessions ;
✓) Instructors are racist. Different behaviour treatment when dealing with certain pilot as compared to fellow French Nationals.
This negative training is happening now and will continue to happen to the pilots undergoing training with them which i think is sadly had become a culture.

Who has paid you to post this list of crap? I have been training in Paris on the Falcon Easy for the last 15 years and I cannot attest to your list.
