J6-Europe Asia Pacific navigation data

Is there any bizjet crew / company using the Luftansa version for the navigation data ?
Rockwell Collins offers an alternative to the Jeppesen version with the Lufthansa one as far as i understand...

Thank you for your comments

In my experience.. I don't like it.

Database is not 100% complete, some approaches are coded differently if yo are flying with jeppesen charts and notam from jepp planner.

Do you know if some other avionic manufactures, like Honeywell, also offer the Lufthansa database?

mgTF, why do not you like it?

Is there anyone here who could recommend to try out Lufthansa's version? What is the difference between this Lufthansa version and Jeppesen one?

basically is exactely the same, but sometimes for some minor airport approaches are completely missing from database, a couple of time a star was also missing from Munich (definitely not a minor airport), in Moscow we were almost start crying as we couldn't find the approach while the day before was there... it turn out that we had to aska vector to final. The day before, same aircraft, same fms, no update in between the approach was there! if you are using jeppesen jet planner for flt log and you also get notams from them in some airport you would find a jeppesen notam on how the approach is coded in fms, but of course that's only valid for jeppesen database, creating confusion tot he crew.
In venice some stars are completely missing..

could go on for hours...

with jeppesen never had a single problem.

in my opinion, FMS, terminal chart and notam should all be from the same provider:
lufthansa+lido charts= maybe ok
jeppesen dbs+jeppesen charsts= for sure ok

LIDO FMS-Database

mgTF, have you reported the missing STARS etc to Lufthansa and what was their reaction/explanation?
They must be interested to deliver a 5* product and need to complete it if things are missing.

If "minor" airports were missing, that could be due to your specification, as you can order to have only airports with a certain RWY length to be included (e.g. everything >4000ft etc.) Same is when you order the datedabase with Jepp.

I strongly doubt that your FMS looses approaches by itself over night.
Sounds more like fingertrouble...

We have used LIDO database in the Challenger 604 (Collins FMS) and never had a problem (lots of flights to/from Moscow and in Europe). Fact is that their coding for some waypoints is slightly different but was easy to understand.

Kind regards

MJ
