Name This Aircraft (please)

Looks a bit like a Pilatus Porter with a PT6 engine to me. If it is I am not sure what it was doing at Reno. I hope it wasn't participating in the races!!

Tis a Turbo Porter

"Skydive Porter"
Used to drop skydiver, one can see the step on both sides of the door!
This is the only aircraft which is able to land before the skydiver it just dropped. Ready! Set! GO! skydive :) :) |

Yes Guppy, but without sparing a thought for the engine. :ugh:

Thanks all!
Apparently it's in competition with other VSTOLs for a slot in Alaska. Thanks again! |
Dan
Just ask any old Air America hands who flew the giggle Porter in Laos, Nam & environs, loved hill top landings. We had a few in JED with us, and they still had the
Super8 footage:E:ok: |
Yes Guppy, but without sparing a thought for the engine. One can beat jumpers down from altitude without any threat to the engine. Again, I've done it many times. No need for an idle power descent. No need to wind the propeller up. No need to rapidly cool anything, use excessive airspeed, or anything else that might threaten the safety or life of the aircraft. I always have thought for the engine. You? |
