Well, I believe that this is the first really broken Premier fuselage.
Good that they walked away!! |
I seem to remember the Blackbushe Premier crash was a split fuselage, as well as separated wings......
|
|
I did not know about Blackbushe so I'll note that it is the first US buggered fuselage.
There is a major join in the area where it came apart. f Added note after seeing Robbreid post. Now I remember the Blackbushe accident, so this one at OSH will be the first 1A . They do seem to have addressed the earlier problems with the lift/dump configuration of late. f |
it was a loud thump,, glad they both are ok

Hope I'm not being ageist..
..but dear ol Jack is nudging 70.... and operating a twinjet (even a Premier) can demand a certain level of awareness, currency and all-round competence. 2 write-offs in 8 years? Well he can surely afford a personal/company pilot. Glad he walked away all the same. bm.

More here, for the sensitive types, a lot of blood.....

ROUSH - confirms he lost his left eye in accident, "I think it's very likely that I'll be able to fly. I've got to get recovered. I have to go through my recovery. Wiley Post was a one-eyed pilot and there's no restriction. Maybe if you're an airline pilot you can't have one eye, but there's not a reason why I can't fly with one eye."

A number of demonstrated-ability airline pilots including captains are flying Par 121. |
With two write-offs, the insurance company may have more to say than the FAA and the docs.

NTSB Preliminary Report states they are in possession of a video of the accident.

Well, the guy who took it probably won't see the tape again. I'm still waiting for mine after filming the P.51 collision in 2007!!!. I don't actually want the crash bit, but would like the rest!.
