Loss of Licence premiums are cheap when you don't need the cover, and outrageously expensive as you slip into the more risky period of your career.

My advice is to shop around, and then open a nice little savings (or pension) account and bank a monthly amount equivalent to the median quote. Keep your fingers crossed for a while and then, before too long, you'll be better off. (AND the money's all yours. AND you'll never have to worry about fighting the underwriting b*****ds to get your cash!).

Keep well.

LOL

hello my friend L.

I have a LoL insurance since the start of my aviation career.

There are basically two options on the market:
LoL insurance plus pension plan - advantage: you will receive back your money plus interest after the end of contract, usually when you retire or are 60+ (or get a pension thereafter)
LoL also covered, when you are aged 40+
Disadvantage: fixed high costs per month for the next decades...

LoL insurance basic: This is the option I have chosen. For an instance I pay ca € 1400,- p.a. for an insurance of ca 300.000,- (aged 37) This is just a little more as 110,- per month (started with ca 500 euro with age 26)
disadvantage: money is gone
insurance gets more and more expensive, the older you are -

hope that helps
fly safe

Can anybody recommend a good LOL insurance combined with a pension product? Is it best to go through BALPA or IPA products?

Anyone have this type of product and can they give us an example of monthly premiums and product benefit/retirement returns.

Happy flying!
