King Air Type Rating
Is anyone aware if it is necessary to do an additional type rating for the Beech 350 if you are already rated on the 200?
|
HM - your location is listed as US so you need to be a little more specific.
There is no rating for a B200 with the FAA - you just need a multi rating and the blessing of your insurance company. A B350 requires a rating because it is over 12,500lbs. |
This is Africa based ops. Aviation authorities tend to follow UK CAA regs.
|
In EASA country, the 350 is one rating with the 300 and 1900.
The 200 is one rating with the 90,99 and 100. AFAIK there is no credit for B200 time if you do a 350 or vice versa. The 90-200 is a classrating, the 300/350/1900 is a typerating. (acc.JARFCL). |
Many thanks.

As I understand it a B1900 rating is good for the 1900 and 300 series Kingair, however a 300 rating will not include B1900.

king air
Is there any type rating for B200 King Air ?

Note the 350 is not included. I guess it may depend on when your rating was issued as to which ones they included. |
You do realize that my statement is 8+ years old ? At the time I wrote it, it was true - "(acc.JARFCL)."
The EASA reinvents the wheel several times a year, so.... |
Now I can confuse the issue even more.. 'flew the 200 only. Given a rating (yes there is one) on the 90,99,100,200,300,350,1900! i suggest you speak to the CAA? |
The King Air 350 is only a development of the 300 and on the same TCDS, like a 250 wich is just a disguised 200.
It is correct the EASA Rating for the 350 will read 300/1900 and include the 350. Last year i got a very good Offer for a King Air 300/1900 EASA Typerating from Aerotours in Straussberg Germany. The credit you some hours, if you have a valid 90/200 Rating. As everybody else in Europe the use the Finnair KA300 Sim in Pori Finnland. |

Well, the desination "350" is nothing more than a Salesname, officially its just a Facelift of the KA300.
The Official Name of a KA350 is B300, the KA300 has as ICAO Designator BE30. A "350" Typerating will be under EASA valid for all 3 Variants : 300-350-1900, but you Need Difference Training when Changing your ride. |
