Hong Kong Government to investigate VISTAJETS illegal operations.

Local aviation journalist Mr Ho Fai Jai writes.....Its seems luck has run out for these guys operating illegal charters out of Hong Kong. They are doing charters out of HK totally illegally, offering charter flights to from and from HK, and even have 2 aircraft based there and have crew based in HK with no work permits. HK government has been informed and immigration is investigating to. :=
Interesting times ahead on the south side of the airport.

5th freedom anyone? :oh:

CaptainProp 7th Dec 2009 14:56

Crew based in HK? I am not sure that's correct. The aircraft is crewed and the crew stays wherever the last flight ended. The crew will then stay until the next charter is sold, may it be HK or London. Not sure if this is legal or not (HK) and although no big fan of Vistajet I am sure many other operators do the same.

Any reference to the article or "investigation"?

Most airlines work exactly like that , I know in the US you need a crew visa if you dont have a US passport , just a paperwork exercise , that is pretty much normal procedure

Big Money 8th Dec 2009 08:43

They will not be able to "grease" their way out of this quite so easily, as with the Russians. It's probably a fun process though.

you dont want to get on the wrong side of the HK CAD, if they get ramp checked in HK they will be screwed.

exitfirstright 20th Dec 2009 09:37

The reporter was 'put up to it' by another operator and the facts were not correctly reported. They operate under a Malaysian approval, the crews are all KL based and only stay as needed, like any other operator till the next trip. Kinda like Nejets.

source?

I didn't find the article of the said Mr Ho Fai Jai...

anyone knows how it ended?

talking to a C850 pilot, they r getting an office in the HK BAC, and are getting a G550 and clappped out G4, good luck in finding a parking space!

ussux 4th Jun 2010 04:34

Like most of these things, was a bigger story... cabotage being the main point of concern - however that has been resolved.
The 550 is coming but the GIV we are not taking deelivery of.

Was to old even for us!

:ok:

i heard they have applied for an AOC in Hong Kong

Peak Tram Driver 29th Jan 2011 07:31

still doing illegal charters out of HK makes u sick.

Peak Tram Driver 19th Jan 2012 17:01

when u interview at Vistajet, you will be asked about illegal operations......come up with some good answers if u want the job!

Flying Mechanic 26th Dec 2012 08:17

Still stealing charters out of HK.....and they are expanding in the Region!
But there not alone , a lot of FAA reg black charter out of HK to, Asia never a level playing field.

NuName 26th Dec 2012 09:41

I used to fly a FAA reg aircraft that was based in Africa, I was constantly accused of performing illegal CAT op's but the aircraft was legally on the company's AOC with the full authority of the base country and the FAA's approval. I had similar experiences with a VP-B aircraft.

What makes you really sick is people of unknown provenance trying to blacken the reputation of one of the few operators making money - for reasons that are obscure, to put it mildly.

PTS and FM - suggest you start corroborating your allegations of illegal charters with some hard facts. Ie posting flight numbers, regs, dates or pax involved along with copies of charter agreements signed for 5th freedom charters. Then take it to the relevant authority or police force, file a complaint And let the courts run their course.

Better still - tell us why you hate VJS so much? I mean, apart from you (apparently genuinely) believing that they sell "grey" charters? Have they taken food off your table? Put your family on the street? Flohr make off with one of your daughters??

Until then - try reading this: [URL="http://www.vistajet.com/en/News/press-releases/historic-china-agreement/11/140"/URL]

As far as I am aware, Beijing Airlines may sell charters to whomever they please in China, and may subcontract those flight out to any party they please. Or you looking at some other piece of legislation, gents?

Tell us your motives and people might - given some back-up by credible evidence - start taking your claims seriously.

Come on chaps, if we're going to bad-mouth VistaJet, let's at least try and do it properly. They aren't stupid enough to get caught red-handed by the HK CAD.
